Just for the record.....Galento and Gleason actually did meet out in an alley after Jackie's performance. Gleason said it himself. He had challenged the fat guy who was giving him a hard time to step outside after the show. Gleason said he turned to the guy and said something to the effect of "Allright you SOB" and that was the the last thing he remembered. When he came to a friend of his told him that was Tony Galento he challenged which is why he got knocked clean out! Galento is not someone you wanted to take on in a street fight.

 

Three people immediately com to mind; Foreman, liston and tyson, all three had the ability to make their opponents crap in their pants and lose the fight before the first punch was even thrown.

That said, there are certain guys that just have a cold look that seems to say "I can kill you right now and it won't mean a thing to me" and those are the guys that evoke a sense of dread in me. Especially because you know those guys will go from cool and on a leash to a raving animal in a second.

Dempsey is one of the kings of those looks. A couple of pictures in this thread really captures that sort of "Hobo killer" expression on his face.
