And Hatton really weighed more than PBF anyways.

Good point. Some people fail to realize that these are two different situations.

Floyd had several successful outings at Welterweight and had grown into the class, even moving up to take on Oscar. So Margarito calling him out was simply one Welterweight calling out another.

But Hatton was a different story. He had a great campaign going at 140, went up to Welterweight and had a hell of a time against Collazo, driving him back down to Jr. Welterweight. So Floyd was fighting a blown up 140-pounder with a short and shaky track record at 147.

    Good call.

    Grown into?

Mayweather walks around at 147ish. And on fight night weights 147-149. Meaning he can cut down to 140 easily. That's not grown into, Margo was calling out Mayweather who is the smaller man.

    Nice try spinning it.

Nice try making any sense. Margarito has been a WW his whole career. Which means he makes weight to fight in that division and has done so for years. Mayweather has fought in the same division over several fights -- and even went up to 155 to fight ODL! So, again, how is one WW calling out another unfair?

On the other hand, Ricky willingly went up to 147 -- a weight class he's proven he has troubles in -- to take on Mayweather.

Pretty clear for clear minded folk.

Yep, I get the point. Thing is, Margo fans should shut up about back then, and Floyd fans should shut up about right now.

Both men do what they have to do to get their well-deserved paydays, if you ask me. I just hope that we at least get to see SOME of the fights we want to see down the line.

Margarito comes into fights weighing 160+lbs. Mayweather walks around at 147. Let me repeat that, walks around at 147. About 30lbs less then what Hatton walks around at.

    Im talking sizes. Purely.

Margo has made 147 his whole career but weighs rougly 158ish on fight night or even higher.

While Mayweather who even when he went up to 154 weighed in at 151. On fight night he LOST weight and weighed 150 1/2.

Mayweather is smaller than Margo, in size and weight. Mayweather was only taller than Hatton. But he was outweighed and out sized physically except in height.

BTW Margo is holding the title that Hatton vacated.

Btw, just for reference, didnt Margarito call Floyd out after his fight with Mitchell or Judah? That would only be 2 fights at welter.

It was after the Judah fight

 Mayweather was really grown into it.. by beating what most haters consider to be two blown up WWs.

Margarito fights in the WW division and so did Mayweather. Let me repeat that, fights in the same division. Should we further segment divisions according to what a guy comes into the fight weighing?

    That doesn't mean anything.

    Margo weighs 160+

    Mayweather walks around at 147.

Manny Pacquaio is going to fight at 147 against Oscar, are you going to really say its okay for Margo to call out Pac if he wins?

Hell no, I don't think it was OK for Oscar to do it! Dumb fight.
