Judge on the basis of the average defensive and offensive skills of the two boxers. So Spinks vs. Holmes I & II are more skilled than James Toney vs. John Ruiz, even if James Toney makes up for the deficit of John Ruiz.

Here are some examples of what I'm looking for-

Holmes vs. Spinks I & II

Walcott vs. Charles I, II, III and IV

    Ali vs. Patterson

    Louis vs. Conn

Byrd vs. Wlad I & II

    Norton vs. Holmes

    Ali vs. Young

Louis vs. Walcott I & II

Ali-Young? Seems a strange pick to me.

Ali was a fat sluggish zombie in that fight.

    Hmm, good pick. :think

Would you rate Harold Johnson over Jersey Joe in terms of skill, then?

Yep, but he was bringing in a lot of skill.

Another possibility is Ali vs. Folley, though I don't think Folley was more skilled than Jimmy Young.

Bowe-Holy I & II are as skillful as any heavyweight title fights.

Offensively maybe, but Bowe's defensive skills have never impressed me.

Holyfield vs. Byrd was very skilled, even if Holyfield was nowhere near what he once was in terms of physical ability.

So because of Bowe's defense, you consider Byrd-Holyfield to be more skillful a fight than Bowe-Holyfield?! :huh

Holyfield ****ing sucked against Byrd, he was shot-to-****, 40 years old, & had a badly torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.

Oldyfield looked like a car that got stuck in the sand in that fight.

Coincidentally if you look at the performance just from Byrd's perspective he put on a virtuoso performance of sorts. Even though that may be one of the worst versions of Evander we've ever seen.
