You are the only one that considers or has considered Sonny Liston as the #2 heavyweight of all time.

I'd say Joe Louis at his peak was the "most unbeatable"

His fight with Chavez wasn't really big, despite it being a battle between the recognised no.1 and no.2 p4p fighters in the world, and being fought in front of 60,000 fans.

    Dunce.

He weighed 142 I believe on the day of the fight. Whitaker wasn't much bigger. Basically it was a fight between two light-welters. I don't believe that was a peak Chavez but the weight wasn't the issue there.

Alright Scientist I'll answer you since Sweetpea has no stomach for this debate.

When I saw it live I had DLH ahead by two points. I reviewed it on youtube recently and had it about even but the fact remains that Hector was so far removed from his prime he didn't belong in the same vicinity as prime Oscar in 1997. Credit hector for the guts he showed just climbing in the ring.

You think Sugar Ray leonard would have dared such a bold move? :nono

To answer your question, Hector used angles to which he attacked opponents and combined with his darting speed, made him the best out there in the art of hit and don't get hit. He was especially tough to deal with, often frustrating opponents and discourging them to the point where they gave up early in the fight. That was his strength and Pernell followed in his footsteps as the next best thing (no offense). In fact, Pernell gave Oscar his best fight up till the Quartey fight in which you saw Oscar begin to slow down.

louis came out there with a rage never seen before in the ring, he was fighting for his country. he was truelly a machine that night. his fists were working like never before, he was unbeatable mentally and physically.

November 1992 Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe
(From the Evander Holyfield I fight)

Gave one of the best HW Performance's in recent memory (defo The best RB)
I say his SIZE, STRENGTH, DETERMINATION, SKILL & CONDITION on that night
would give any top Heavyweight in the history of the division, the fight of their life.

That's for sure. Bowe was so utterly combative it's difficult to see how another would survive the onslaught. I loved the second and eleventh rounds! Give Evander credit for hanging in there.

I think that the post-Liston, pre-ban Ali would be my pick.

Hagler at Middleweight around 85.. he was an animal...

Holyfield at cruiserweight....... he'd have been champ for as long as he wanted to keep it...

Moorer at Light heavyweight was having to carry a few opponents to get the work in.. he too could have been dominant champ if he'd have stayed there.. I saw fighters move up to cruiser and down to super middle to avoid Moorer.. he was awesome.......... rock solid and untouchable...

Riddick Bowe has definitely become underrated.
His own fault though. He slacked off, never maintained that sort of form. Threw it all away.
Eddie Futch, Mills Lane and Larry Holmes have all commented on how they thought he showed the potential to be an elite all-time heavyweight and legend, perhaps the best ever. But he squandered it.
