Bob Foster, especially in the years '68 thru '73 seemed unbeatable.

I said when I made that list a while back, that Ali and Liston are my 2-3 they switch alot, I put liston at 2 that time, but came to realize that Ali deserved it more than he did so I am keeping liston at # 3. i do not have enough justification rating liston over ali based on "what ifs". but liston firmly and honorably deserves the 3 spot.

You're losing your edge here SuzieQ. Conforming to the mainstream? I expected more from you!

I was actually out, away from the keyboard. It happens.

What is there to answer? You've let your feelings known on this topic many, many times and been owned like the dunce you are from practically every single poster on here. Why do I want to go through the same thing again? Honestly, why the hell would I? Are you too slow and idiotic(obviously yes, but it's rhetorical, if you're familiar with the word) to comprehend this?

Spats are common place on forums this is nothing new to me.

Had you gone straight to the post and addressed the issue (Pernell best h2h lightweight) I wouldn't have mentioned your lack of nerve. The first time out you gave me a  instead of telling us why Pernell is so high on your list.

The truth probably lies in the fact that you grew up during that era, 90's in which his influence was much stronger than those from previous decades.

I laughed at your post for reasons I just explained. We've been over this arguments time and again, and I wasn't getting into another spat with someone as foolish as yourself. I've actually made an effort to stop getting dragged into non-sensical spats with you, in case you haven't noticed.

Just tell why you think Pernell beats every other lightweight historically. That's the issue here but you seem to have a problem explaining it. Is it because he's a southpaw? That's the only reason I can think of because it sure isn't the competition (no offense)

Because based on watching film of other lightweights, deciphering their strengths and weaknesses, how they responded to certain situations, etc I think Whitaker matches up very well with any of them. Fair enough?

I don't deny Hector was tremendously gifted at hitting and not getting hit, but the question is, against whom did he prove it?

Who was the best (live) fighter that he beat?

Hector never proved he could do what he did to a great or even near great fighter.

That he proved he could beat a boxer who was not good enough to hold a title in the alphabet soup era doesn't tell me a whole lot about how he does against someone of Whitaker's ilk.

Now I admit, Whitaker never faced anyone quite like Camacho during his career, but he did beat or compete with some quite competent boxer types (e.g. McGirt, DLH, Mayweather), so his pedigree was more proven than Hector's.
