Edison Miranda vs. Arthur Abraham I has always stood out to me. Abraham's jaw was badly broken from a punch. The referee said the broken jaw was caused by a headbutt. They went to replay. It showed the broken jaw was caused by a punch. In that instance, if Abraham couldn't continue, the fight would end with an Abraham loss. But the referee seemed not to want to allow that to happen. So he asked Abraham if he wanted to continue. Abraham appeared to say no. They continued the fight anyway. The ref would deduct FIVE points from Miranda for wildly bizarre reasons - punches on the beltline, headbutts that didn't land. It went on round after round. Abaham couldn't close his mouth his jaw was so badly broken. Blood poured out of his mouth. It seemed mind boggling that the ref or the doctor refused to call it. Every time Miranda landed a punch to the beltline, Abraham would claim he was fouled because the pain in his jaw was so severe he could barely stand it. And he'd take minutes while Edison lost another point. Miranda seemed to win comfortably. The point deductions looked to be a way to save Abraham. Abraham seemed to have been forced to absorb a ridiculous amount of punishment in a losing fight. The referee looked like he'd showered in blood. And they gave the fight to Abraham. Even without the five point deductions, he would've won. It made no sense at all. He literally just tried to survive in tact for the last two-thirds of the fight. Corruption at its worst.
