The losing champion must have been 'Herb Bishop' given the cryptic clue, but i haven't found who the winning contender was.

I looked at someone with the surname Bishop earlier on Sox and drew a blank - but your 'Herb Bishop' gave me reason to go back and try it.

As a result I'm thinking Teddy Moroney.

It's a tricky one because it may not necessarilly be listed as 'for the Australian title' if Bishop didn't make weight.

Moroney seems as good a fit as anyone.

....where's that sinful Bobby Sin when you need him?

    Teddy Moroney?

    Where's that Bobby Sinn?

Hope nothing's happened to him - promised he'd leave me that signed boxing encyclopedia of his, and I wouldn't know where to go looking for it.

    Bobby?

    Sox.. we have a winner!!!

Herb Bishop it was. He weighed in overweight, lost his title on the scales and allowed Paddy Boxhall to bust his hand on his head.

As much as certain dumb ****s refuse to accept the fighting qualities of these men from years gone by, they were genuine FIGHTERS. Having won the title on the scales, Boxhall went ahead with the fight anyway... giving away a great deal of weight, purely to appease the fight fans desire to see a couple of real men in action.

I strongly doubt a magget like Mandy would do the same, or a fighter managed by that ***** Fenech.

Welcome back Bobby - looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer to gain ownership of that boxing encyclopedia of yours - assuming you didn't swap it to Matty for that collectible dummy?

I've had concerns with all the nut-hugging Ashley's been carrying on with that he's actually 'turning' Japanese.

...and next thing I find out he's where??
