Does anyone else find this nickname kinda lame? Also him saying you have to beat the champ to be the champ is a bit contradictory being that he never actually won his "title" from a champ, he beat Florian for it. I like Sherk, think he's a great fighter but definitely take exception with these two things. Also, he's fighting BJ so he will get no support from me in this fight :deal Penn Sub 2 :good
It was in Japan where he adopted his nickname, "The Muscle Shark". The Japanese katakana for Sherk is the same for shark. Sherk's win in PRIDE would be his only outing in the company. from his wiki..
It may be lame, but it's kind of the only one that would work because a.) he is a muscle shark, who body builds and b.) what else fits in with the name "Sean Sherk"? BJ "The Prodigy" Penn is a better nickname. And even though recently several factors were pointed out to me concerning the likelihood that BJ Penn will defeat Sherk, I stick with my original hypothesis and say Sherk by decision/late stoppage.
Thanks for that- I always wondered where it came from :think As much as I support Penn, I think Penn's gotta win this early (first 2) otherwise he's ****ed if he gasses against Sherk...he'll get carved up if that happens:!:
What else fits better? I'd lose "muscle" and keep "the shark" if anything. Yes "The Prodigy" is one of the best nicknames in all sports :deal
There are alot of ******ed nicks. I'd have to give the Dean of Mean as the lamest I've ever heard and everytime I hear it is like nails on a chalkboard.

I kind of like Jardine's nickname....it's catchy. It's cheesy, sure, but I don't think it's supposed to be that serious nickname...
