Corrie Sanders' epic killer resume of greatness (no sarcasm), 42-4 w/ 31 KO's
1992- W UD10 Johnny Nelson, former longest reigning cruiser champ ever
1993- W TKO3 Bert Cooper, the former longtime heavyweight contender
1994- W TKO1 Carlos De Leon, ATG cruiser
    1997- W UD12 Ross Puritty, legendary journeyman
1998- W TKO2 Bobby Czyz, former light heavy and cruiser champ
2000- W TKO1 Alfred Cole, former IBF cruiser champ
    2000- L TKO7 Hasim Rahman
2001- W KO1 Michael Sprott, we all know Sprott
2003- W TKO2 Wladimir Klitschko, ATG and best of upcoming decade/era
    2004- L TKO8 Vitali Klitschko

My goodness. What would it take to get a resume like this on a HW nowadays? Really puts it into perspective that you could argue there hasn't been a better HW other than Wlad and Vitali since Sanders retired in '04. And that is pathetic. What a sad division... Go Corrie Sanders! What an odd thing to try to bring Sanders down really, I'm glad he's gotten some appreciation in recent years as opposed to before then.

He is obviously getting discussed more and thought of better because Wladimir has been getting massive discussion since the week before the Pulev fight. It's a natural discussion. His win over Wladimir is, well, there hasn't been a better W in the decade that followed, I don't think.

He was a very mediocre fighter. The only people who try to say different are Wlads fanboys trying to make excuses for why he lost

I remember arguing with a Klitschko fan on here who said something along the lines of "Sanders is much better than that bum Rahman who KO'd Lewis". Obviously Rahman KO'd Sanders so not that much better.

You just uncovered his real intention and destroyed his ploy
Corrie could have been damn good--maybe great-- with some discipline and a Manny type of manager
He was all about power in the early rounds and you had to watch out...RIP, Corrie

How many times do we see this ****e from fighters.

They've been KOd like 5 times, then go 12 with someone and say that the guy they just fought was the hardest hitter they've ever encountered.

Well since you didn't get KOd, clearly not.

Again, let's see some EVIDENCE of Sander's "huge power."

Explain to me why, despite 90%+ of his fights being vs journeyman and tomato cans, he only had a 67% KO rate.

Champions like Lewis & Tyson have higher KO rates, and they spent most of their careers in the upper echelons of the division, fighting good boxers.

You need to give up on the denial and accept Corrie Sanders potential.

First of all, his KO rate is 74%. Second, knocking someone out is not only about power but also accuracy. Few would question that Wladimir Klithscko hits harder than Carl Thompson, but it was Thompson that stopped David Haye and Jean Marc Mormeck who knocked him down.

Sanders won a bit too consistently to be written off as a journeyman, and he clearly had some talent and heart. Not an A-level fighter off course, but somewhere between B+ and B. With some more dedication and the right trainer, he would have done a bit better. That's only common sense.

Alfred Cole was very durable but he started doing the Chicken Dance soon
as Sanders connected with a shot, the announcers were just starting to praise
the Great Al Cole when he hit the canvas and started doing the Jig...

He had a real nice right hook as well. In his early fights, he used it to the body a lot. Actually, the guy was a pretty good body puncher and never given 1 iota of credit for it. He went to the body as much as anyone else, possibly more. And just how many guy's out there have a good enough defense to deal with a southpaw throwing nice right hooks to the body anyway?

He presented a lot of problems to solve in there. And in the era of path of least resistence matchmaking other opponents get selected instead the do not have to be solved.

Somewhere between B and B+? Based on what exactly? Who did he beat other than Klitschko?

46 total fights with 31 KOs = 67% KO rate.

Those who sparred with Sanders and Tyson said Sanders hit harder. He had more than fairly decent hand speed. Player haters need not apply.
