Who ever said he fought the best in each weight class? He fought and beat THE CHAMP in four of them. And he's fought pretty good comp in the others (other than lightweight, which was originally intended to be a tune up fight to see if he could handle the weight).

once again i listed the fighters hatton beat after beating zoo..and he fought the weakest fighters at 140 who had a belt...he had cotto and mayweather at 140 when he beat zoo and opted to fight maussa instead:deal

once again do you really want to hang your hat on carlos mausssa:blood you said he unified with maussa how many title defenses did he make of his "unified title" and why did he fight maussa instead of cotto or floyd:deal

and you said hatton beat top contenders at 140 are u serious jose luios castillo was not a top contender at 140, neither was juan lazcano..and urango get the **** out of here.

hatton ducked any threat he could of had at 140 to be lineal from 2005-2009 he somehow missed these guys at 140:

    1. floyd mayweather jr:hey
    2. miguel cotto:hey
    3. Junior witter:hey
    4. tim bradley:hey
    5. Devon alexander:hey
    6. Kendall holt:hey
    7. ricardo torres:hey

    and wound up fighting:
    1. carlos maussa:admin
    2. juan urango:admin
    3. jose luis castillo:admin
    4. juan lazcano:admin
    5. paulie malinaggi:admin

Simply look at Floyds resume vs Pacs resume and compare. There are many more "legends" and potential HOF'ers during their prime on Pacs vs Floyds. Discussion over. Floyd may be able to beat Pac, but no way he ever has the experience of getting in the ring and defeating the equivalent weight Mexicans Pac boxed. Marquez/Morales/Barrera-those guys are all legends. Then to jump up in weight and blow out ODH/Hatton and Cotto? C'mon, youre grasping at straws if youre trying to imply Floyds resume can hold anything to Pacs at this stage.

maussa was not the only real titleist at the time he had floyd and cotto to fight. and bradley whipped campbell's ass i take it you didn't watch the fight.

I can decide if a guy is smoke and mirrors once again beating zoo did not hatton the best at 140 it gave him an ibf title he had to go out after that and beat the other champs and unify with floyd and cotto to prove he was the best:deal

and you said bradley never beat the best he is the only fighter at 140 conistently beating the best at his weight it damn sure aint ricky hatton or manny pac:hat:nono

this is true. but hatton was still the best. i really don't see any argument otherwise. i agree that hatton didn't beat the very best of the weight but not many do. he was still the top 140 at the time. nuff said. your focus on 135 makes more sense and 147 is ok but as someone pointed out, he took on the man who beat the man (mosley) so it's understandable. you have to admit pac's resume is incredible. you can pick a hole here or there but it's amazing

floyd and cotto moved up right after. and like it or not, bradley does not have the win against campbell on his record. fights are 12 rounds, not 3. hatton moved up to take floyd at 147, after floyd moved up so that doesn't make much sense...not like ricky avoided him:huh bradley didn't beat the best because hatton was the best. bradley did beat witter (top 5), holt (top 5) and campbell (not really rated at 140)

    .

not based on recent comp or accomplishments at the weight the zoo fight was 4 years ago who of any note had he defeated at 140 in that time span.

of course you can you analyze ricky hattons career and it was all hype. after zoo he did nothing at 140.

as the so-called best at 140 he had an obligation to fight the best but he cherry picked around and got accolades for doing that. his fans wanted to proclaim ricky great of one fight and he milked that zoo win for everything it was worth. but did he honestly fight the very best at a140.

you can say he was the top but that don't make it true chief. I already provided you with a list of very dangerous opponents for ricky he deiced to fight the softest fights at 140 malinafggi, maussa, urango, castillo, lazcano don't make me laugh.

he didn't do **** at 147 he made a 147 fighter coming off a brutal beating by clottey fight him at 145. if he was truly interested in fighint the best he would of went straight for mosely.:deal

no they did not move up right after hatton beat zoo. zoo lost to hatton in may of 05 floyd beat gatti in june of 05 they had 6 months to make a fight with floyd or cotto but turned down both to fight maussa:deal

and once again hatton won in may floyd won in june why couldn't the fight get made..i will tell you why because hatton was a coward and didn't want to rick his newfound status. the only logical fight at 140 at the time was floyd vs hatton..but ricky fought maussa instead. that is not the best fighter at 140.

hatton beating zoo did not make him the best fighter at 140 all he did was win a title, to be the best he had to beat floyd and other top fighters at 140 to win that distinction.

he decided to live off zoo's reputation rather than build his own..typical coward ****

Just curious, just who exactly is supposed to have a better resume than Pac and is also moving up in weight classes while building that resume?

well you make some fair points but i'll have to agree to disagree. just because a champion doesn't face the very best for a few fights doesn't mean he's not the champ. you make good points regarding ricky but i'm still not convinced he wasn't the champ at 140. but good discussion regardless:good
