Yes, if you are landing hundreds and hundreds of clean shots to someone's face and skull then you should be stopping them if you are a good puncher. How obvious is that??? :nut

 

seeing as the hate for Calzaghe on the GB is overwhelming sometimes, many forget that Calzaghe needed injections in his hand THREE weeks before that fight.

Yet then again these same ignorant fans never gave him a chance, then when Lacy was handed his arse back to him all of a sudden he was overrated.

there was talk of Calzaghe-Jones in 2002/2003.

Calzaghe beat Brewer/Jimenez and Pudwill in 2002 (Pudwill was a replacement for Thomas Tate)

The talk of the Jones fight was right after the Brewer fight which was around April that year.

Jones in 2002 beat Glen Kelly and then Faced Clinton Woods before moving up to face Ruiz at Heavyweight.

Now here is where it gets interesting. Jones comes down after 1 fight at Heavyweight and basically was never the same fighter, Calzaghe maintained the style throughout his career...so it would have been a tighter fight than many suggest.

Some on this forum need to look at things more objectively rather than out of pure hatred.

In my opinion Roy would have absolutely anihilated Calzaghe in his prime.

Jeff Lacy was the first champion that Joe EVER faced !!!!!

Amazing no wonder Joe was in such better condition at 37 after all those easy nites and quick stoppages

 

Lacy was in his prime until that beatdown from Calzaghe, it was evident that he would never be the same figher again.
