    Go watch the fight, dickheads.

Pacquiao countered Cotto's jab with ease.

Everytime Cotto threw it/shaped to throw it, Pacquiao's left hand landed straight on the mark.

Stop pedalling this myth that Cotto's jab worked well.

well it worked at times. But it did get him in alot of ****.

A Pacquiao right hand counter over a Cotto double-jab is what prompted the first knockdown in round 3.

Pacquiao really got going in that 2nd round by lunging in with straight lefts. An unorthodox punch but it worked well for him... and sometimes, the unorthodox works.

The one thing that probably bothered Pac in that fight was Cotto's jab, the rest of Miguel's arsenal let him down and his holes cost him the fight. But Cotto has a very nice jab, too bad it isn't a natural punch of his game.

Pac is like POWERFUL Calzaghe in the way that his awkward southpaw punches coming from wierd angles that even catch ATG defensive fighters like JMM (Who was on his back 4 times in two fights) but his punches carry PAIN on them unlike the older JC with hand problems. Barrera, Morales and JMM ALL very good technically couldn't see them coming. His "balance" that Steward used to complain about has vanished and he is always in position to throw even when he misses now. His awkwardness, just like in the case of JC is an ENORMOUS strength, you can't train for "awkward".:rasta

You were being decieved, Pac will let a fighter hit him so the fighter will "feel safe" to open up so Pac can check thier chin. Clottey KNEW that, that is why he was afraid to EVEN try to open up and admitted that was the reason post fight. That Manny was letting him hit him a few times to lure him into exchanges and he said NO.:deal

The people who claim this cite the latter half of the fight, when Pacquiao was in mopping-up operations, the battle has been won and it was moot and academic. Pacquiao wanted to give everyone some more excitement, so he was forcing the issue a little bit giving Cotto precious opportunities to time him with the jab.

Awkward has always worked well for Pacquiao. It's the foundation of his style. You don't see too many world class southpaws out there who fight in an "in-and-out" style and throw volumes of punches from all different angles.

The only other top fighter I can think of who fights like that is Sam Soliman, but he's not nearly as aggressive and explosive as Pacquiao is.

Punching power comes from the legs.........look at Pacs freakish size legs for his body size. That is natural, his bones don't grow from "roids" and his thigh calf and ankle( which has no muscle) are measured bigger than SSM who can bang also. I don't know why folks can't equate him moving up and not boiling down to make weight, fighting at his natural walking weight just like Floyd is what increased his performance. Pac is NOT small and never was. Cotto, DLH, Hatton had to "make weight" and are bigger naturally so are weakened by doing so while Pac is healthy. Not to mention the speed, smaller is faster. Look at Heavyweights, when a fighter moves up from a smaller weight they make the big lugz look like slomo..........

All I remember from the fight was that the bigger guy (Cottoe) was allowing the Fantasy Island looking midget (PacGwire) to chase him down and run like a beeyach.

It did bother Manny in the first 2 rounds.....after that Manny adjusted and began to counter it. But the jab did work...just not long enough to really win any rounds.
