It's a duck. He has stated that the fight will not happen this year reason being he knows Spence will be safely away from ww next year. Calling out Alvarez at 160 confirms this. If this fight did take place and Spence won he would stay at 160. A loss would take him back to 154. Either way he will not be fighting at ww after 2018. It is a well know fact that he has difficulty making 147. KT knows this. It is clearly a duck.

Spence would love to fight Thurman before he heals up after surgery..................I don't blame Thurman for wanting a tuneup fight first...............

There's no excuse for him not to fight Spence this year, so as long as that happens he won't be called a ducker

2018 has just begun and Thurman has said the fight with Spence won't be happening this year. If Spence had it his way the fight would happen as soon as possible. The reluctant one is Thurman.

Let me put this myth to rest:

Spence was never even on the radar for Thurman, the whole
Spence calling out Keith scenario began due to the fact
that Keith was Floyd's mandatory (for I believe over 2 years) and Floyd
commenting he feels that Keith should fight Spence first and Keith
retorting (why should he fight Spence when he had to work his way
up to his level and saying Spence should do the same). There was never
any ducking, they've been at two different points in their careers up until recently.
Spence didn't even fight a guy that could be considered in the top 20 until 2016, Keith was beating
former titlists back in 2012 (Spence wasn't even a pro yet).

Why in God's name would Keith (who by all intents and purposes should've been
fighting for the top spot well before he did) take a significant step backwards to fight
Spence? Because Floyd said so? You guys know that makes no sense at all. No one can
name one fighter or stylistic matchup that Thurman has avoided in his entire career, he was the one calling
people out until he finally got his break. Let's be real, out of all the top WWs currently, he had
the hardest road to the top. Only thing hindering Keith is his activity (which has admittedly stalled
    quite a bit).
