There seems to be this myth especially among British boxing fans that Brook schooled Shawn Porter in a dominant and 1 sided 12 round victory. What I saw is Brook get away with an excessive amount of holding in a fight that could have gone either way. For the record I have nothing against the decision really but if it had gone Porter's way nobody could have coplained. I personally felt Porter shaded it.
I definitely know what you mean... After that bout there were a lot of people (including me) wondering if Brook did enough to take the win. But I think he did. In no way did he SCHOOL Porter, but I personally agree with the decision.
Well you're not that great at judging Boxing matches, punches to the back of the head and shoulders don't count. I gave Porter 2 rounds.
Porter wasn't very good in that fight. But Kell did hold way too much and it should have been stamped out by the ref
I agree the result is completely exaggeated, brook didnt land a whole lot and the shots he did land were often light and completely to do with porters recklessness they didnt affect porter for the large part and he seemed willing to run threw them because he thought he was going to get brook out of there early. There was a lot of holding too and a lot of rounds were close but brook did win.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Brook won 10 rounds to 2. And the 2 rounds Porter won are debatable at best. He barely landed a clean shot all night, and Brook took Porter soul back to the Sheffield.
I can understand mate, at the time of watching it I felt Porter had nicked it but I really didn't know which way it was going to go. I felt it was a really cose fight, Brook seemed to do the cleaner work and come on strong late but he did hardly anything earlier in the fight and got out worked in a lot of rounds. Very, very close and messy fight for me, like I say I have nothing wrong with Brook getting the nod but he certainly didn't dominate.
He held to stop getting headbutted in the fight. Brook just edged it for me, Porter turned it into a close affair by rushing in with wild hayemakers and throwing his head in brooks face. If the ref kept it at distance, it would have been 9rds clear to Brook. Porter had no answer to Brooks counter's The ref allowed him in the fight with some WWE type moves.
He did not school him in a sense but he clearly won and exposed alot of porters flaws (then continued to successfully explloit them during the fight exposing yet another flaw in porters ability (or lack of) to adapt
7-5 I never said Froch Dirrell wasn't close. If that was Mayweather fighting Porter and he fought the same fight as Brook you'd be calling it a master class.
brook may have held for a bit, but porter did about 20 headbutts, which is pretty much the only time he landed anything on brook. off memory had brook winning pretty much every round after 5, porter won the first few, 8-4 to brook is how I scored it.
