    Definitely a myth but it's also definitely true that he could have faced better opposition in his career.

    He's not ageist, he will fight people with any type of disadvantage; age, class, size, shopworn - he doesn't discriminate

    No one who knows what they're talking about thinks Mayweather has always fought smaller men. But he fought Marquez (a 130lb fighter who was fighting at 135lbs) at welterweight and then didn't even bother to weigh in at the agreed weight. That's pure ***gotry and took away what little chance this fight had of being competitive.

    He also fought Hatton above his best weight. In both of these examples there were far more challenging fights for Mayweather to take.

    yes because Hatton used to come into the ring arouind 154lbs in msot his fights and Floyd would never go above 150lbs as a WW. He was the same weight as Marquez on fightnight.
