Cotto didn't crumble in the 12th. The ref stopped the bout when Cotto wasn't even hurt or in danger of getting KO'd, so that Pac could have another stoppage victory on his resume.
Pac have big joint and bone structure that allows him to compete in higher weight class. He scored a lot of stoppage because he is fully committed to it. With the exception of Hatton, he scored no one punch KO, not against Morales, Barerra, Oscar, cotto, Marquez. Even in the Hatton fight its not exactly a one punch KO. Only a jealous Floyd supporters could spread such lies.
nobody KOs top class opposition on a consistent basis. You just don't get the opportunities you do against less talented opponents. Look at GGG, he is one of the hardest hitters p4p and couldnt stop Jacobs or Canelo. The fact is when you fight P4P world class opponents you are NOT going to stop them every fight.
At 122 and 126 he scored one punch KO's all the time on guys who were not ATG's or HOF'ers. If you go back to the very old Manny Pacquiao fights when he actually fought men his own size (something he hasn't done in like 13-14 years) he was icing guys with 1 shot. It's hard to just ice a guy like Erik Morales with 1 punch. Nah, guys operating on that level don't typically leave themselves open for a flush bomb like that. Neither Barrera, Morales or Marquez could trade full on with Pac. The closest to do it was Morales who did do it in the 12th round and was staggered twice. Marquez tried to trade with Pac for round 1 and was dropped 3 times. What more evidence could there be that this guy at the lower weights was swinging a sledgehammer. Cotto had the power and size to trade with Pac. He did successfully for 2 rounds, but eventually he was overwhelmed by Pacquiao's speed and volume. And then it turned into a gradual beatdown for like 6 rounds.
8 divisions is a bit of a wierd claim, and not strong, seeing as they were sometimes vacant, new or unrecognised bodies. still an outstanding ATG acheivement even if you ditch the unrecognised body's titles and the vacant ones. He was a ko artist without a doubt.
Yea Marquez sure crashed the peds and special shakes outta Pacquiao! KTFO in 6 4 life deal with it LMFAO
Ive always said that what made Manny one of the all time greats in my eyes was how a 5`5 LW was able to be such a dominant fighter at 147lbs against big WWs. Manny shouldve topped out at 140lbs but was able to fight as high as 150lbs because of his skill, speed and power which was still good enough to keep people honest and hurt them through accumilation. Just a great, great fighter who challenged himself and imho would not hesitate to put ahead of Floyd on the all time p4p list.
