The Nasty Boy

I really hope Nathan's time has come. He's still only 33, and what a geat guy to have in your corner in Paul.

Great to see him finally overcome Wilson. But Col looks like he might be on the way out.

 

I like Nathan Briggs...has great skills and technical abilities, but his chin will always stop him from being anything decent.

IMO, Sol and Hoppa would beat him and I even think Cronje could beat him too.

Its a shame, but I suppose he will always be a great local fighter to have around.

 

Ipswich...not even to Sol?

Hoppa would beat Briggs only if he came out guns blazing in the first 2-3 rounds...Hoppa usually gets a couple decent shots on most opponents in the oppening rounds...If Briggs survived that he should be able to jab his way to a points win.

It might sound stupid, but I think Cronje is a really underrated fighter. Beat Col Wilson easily (imo) and can throw some good shots as well as take them. Not too shabby with his boxing skills for a HW either.

 

Again hats off to the Nasty boy for beating Col. His fitness and defence were very good in that fight.

But after thinking about it for a while Nath would get beaten by Sol and Hoppa.
The guy has been down close to a dozen times in 25 or so fights. His chin just cant stand up to a heavy with a good punch, and he looks vunerable anytime he cops a good shot. Im not going to say he has a glass chin or anything but the fact is his record speaks for itself, and so does Hoppa's and Sol's. They can seriously punch and Nath's punch resistance isnt even questionable, its been proven to be just not that good.
He has good skills but they arent good enough to keep him out of the way of punches for the whole fight, no matter who he is facing.

 

I rate the guy too.

 

Just before we get all excited lets not foget Nathan Briggs is a KIWI! Born in Christchurch thanks very much! I know thats hard for you Aussies to swallow.

And while we are on the topic, Adam Forsyth is also a KIWI! He fought Shane Cameron for the NZ Amatuer Title and lost, but hes still a kiwi

 

They must be so proud of their New Zealand heritage then.

To denounce it and call themselves Aussie.

Forsyth said he was a Kiwi after the Talemaira fight, he might keep that close to his chest whilst fighitng in Oz and i dont blame him! As soon as he says hes a kiwi he'll be getting a raw deal

Poinr taken ipswich, however the other point still remains Forsyth and Briggs were born in NZ. Its a fact, it amazes me how quickly people jump on and try make out as though they are Ozzies, i spoke with Forsyth after the fight he said he was kiwi!

Just relax its ok, some people are to highly strung
