This is more like it.......honesty about a fightfan prefering and rooting for a specific fighter. Plain and simple with Hamed, he was an entertainer more than he was a skilled fighter. You either loved him or hated him, rarely was there an inbetween on this matter. Lets be honest here, Hamed was a physical talent, but far from a skilled fighter.......which is the reason he was clueless against MAB, and the reason why he was never heard from seriously again. Get real here about people saying Hamed was'nt focused for MAB.......that he was worried about other things like his hair, costume, etc.......Hamed paid emphasis to those things in every fight of his and he did just fine because simply he was facing a lesser fighter unequipped to deal with his physical talents. Bottom line, Hamed was an entertainer, not a great fighter.
He wasn't an ATG, but I think we have to at LEAST call him a 'good' fighter, if not a great one. He was certainly world class level -- he had a pretty good reign. He fell short against a legend -- no embarrassment in that at all. From an orthodox perspective, of course he was terrible -- but he never even tried to be orthodox, his whole style was almost the opposite of textbook boxing. He was a good fighter, AND a good entertainer. They aren't mutually exclusive.
No to worry Outboxer, if it had been Marquez who derailed the prince, Divac would be hailing Naz as a great fighter. I do know one thing...Marquez never beat a fighter of the caliber of 2001 Naz.
Barrera UD12. Barrera beats any version of Naz any night of Naz's career. He was simply a higher class fighter, end of story.
Who cares about ducking and all that rubbish, Ant. We saw what happened when they did fight and we know the odds were at least 3-1 in favor of Hamed.
Barrera always beats Hamed. (Any version) Marco's style is perfect to pick apart Naz every time, IMO.
