After much painstaking thought, Floyd and Ellerbe will come up with some grand final excuse for why he won't take the fight. It has to be something new because the *****s are really struggling to keep their heads above water with the increasingly invalid excuses they've recently been using.
But rest assured, something good will come out explaining why this fight won't happen. The *****s will at first be confused, then they'll rationalize, then breathe a sigh of relief that their hero isn't really a yellowbelly but has a perfectly good explanation for why it's all Pac's fault this didn't happen, then they'll hit the message boards with the new talking points they've been given.

In the distant future, Floyd will be in the hall of fame, but never on that consensus all-time great list because he just wouldn't step up to the big challenges once he left lightweight.
