i recall somebody once said, 'to fight pacquiao you have got to have guts, but to fight him twice, you have got to be crazy'.

Its a sport, son. Mans gonna try to win, not make you feel better about your fifty bucks. He tried. He even did well. If he played balls to the wall, he'd have been hurt.

barrera fought smartly. i dont blame him for not wanting to turn it into a gun fight, he could have gotten ko'ed again.

I agree with the t/c. Barrera put on a very lackluster performance, and I dunno why you guys are defending him. He basically ran the whole time and refused to engage Pacqauio at any point in the fight. I can understand why he wouldn't want to get hit, but that's boxing -- you gotta take risks, and sometimes that means taking some to give some.

Cmon he didn't try to win at all. He was content in jabbing and staying away. It was like watching Taver vs Jones 3.

If Barrera fought Pac toe to toe the whole time, he would have been like in rd 11 where he was seriously hurt, but at a much earlier point in the fight. I don't blame him for wanting to fight that way, Pac is always dangerous no matter what. With that said, Pac wasn't entirely at his best tonight, but he did what he had to. I was seeing him breathing very heavily in between rounds, and I think he had difficulty making weight. Anyone think he should consider moving up to 135?

Nobody is saying he should of fought toe to toe with pac all night but cmon at least engage every now and then.. He was just jab and move jab and move. It was horrible.. And thats what im talking about.. Pac wasnt even at his best and Barerra was content on just surviving for 12 rounds.. If he moves up to 135 hes in big trouble.

Manny won, Pac fans should be happy.

But maybe we should give proper respect to Barrera and his legacy as a fighter.

Tahnk you, MAB. From all boxing fans all over the world.

  11. I am glad Barrera LOST! he is a sore loser, and i only wished Manny would have KO'D him, oh well this was Barreras last fight:hi:

I think Pac probably took him lightly. He is a rockstar and Jesus all rolled together in the Philipines. I'm sure it's easy to lose focus when you're facing a guy you TKO'ed before in a dominant performance.

If you look at Barreras physical condition compared to Pacs, he faught a great fight.

Pac is faster, more powerful, has more stamina and better reflexes than Barrera, but he didn't look good in this fight.

I was worried MAB was going to get owned, lets face it, he is on his last legs and has given the sport so many great fights it just wouldnt be right for him to be KO'd.

He used his ring experience and smarts to last the 12 rounds and give manny a respectable fight. If he faught like he used to he would have been destroyed and people would be ripping the **** out of him for being beaten so easily.

Good on Barrera and lets hope he retires.
