I don't know what fight people saw tonight. I know what fight I saw. And it was an excellent one. Both fighters showed excellent skills and poise. But....BUT Trout made this fight! He threw more punches, pushed the action and landed more punches. There is NO way Canelo landed near as many punches. NO WAY! Punch stats are rigged just like judging. I won't sit here and say that the harder shots were landed by Trout but BUT his shots were effective and thats why Canelo faded down the stretch. Showtime, GBP, Texas Commission, and the Judges are all to blame. It disgusts me that Promotional companies are worried about putting an L on someone's ledger in order to conserve marketability. Do you honestly think that Mexicans would stop watching Alvarez based on a loss?! Did Mexicans abandon Juan Manual Marquez after his defeats to Manny? Further support to this statement is that, Trout actually elevated his marketability in this defeat. It kills me to hear the commentators say that OPEN SCORING, or anyone insinuate that OPEN SCORING was the issue! If the judges did their job OPEN SCORING would have nothing to do with it, in fact OPEN SCORING would have made a better fight than what went on. The fact that the commentators didn't focus more on the JUDGES shows me that they have the house fighters best interest at heart. Paulie should be ashamed, even he seems to be losing his impartiality. I love boxing. I follow this sport like other how other people follow Soccer, Football, Baseball and Basketball. It's bad enough we get to see compelling match-ups, like this one (and don't get it twisted this was a GREAT matchup on paper and in the ring), so very little. But it was utterly tarnished by corruption. Its sad when at pick-em fight, is already decided before its fought. Yeah...yeah...babble about taking it out of the hands of the judges but not everyone is a puncher, and that shouldn't be the only way to get a fair shake. Finally Oscar de la Hoya...your a POS! You know what its like to be robbed, and you ROBBED a fighter of an honest fight, I can't say victory because we will never know how it would have really went down in an honest world. But I know Oscar, that FAKE SCUM BAG, rigged this fight when it was made. Promoters are killing boxing. Judges are killing boxing. Commissions are killing boxing. And Networks that don't demand honest fights are killing boxing. Another great fight night down the drain. Hope you enjoyed it.
Nope. It was all good to me. I'll admit i had my doubts on Canelo on how good he actually is. But he proved me wrong and showed he could hang with the higher level fighters. Very close fight, but Canelo was the better fighter.
