I personally believe BN is good value for money, this card saturday should be a *******, full of 50/50. My main point is that if BN didn't exist then where would we watch all of the big international fights? I doubt sky would show them as there commitment to boxing is overshadowed by other sports, and the terrestrial channels have been disgraceful to boxing in recent years. Online streams are unreliable too. I seriously doubt that these fights would be difficult to view if BN wasn't here, and appreciate them for it.
I think that the likes of Mayweather/GGG/Wlad would be picked up by BT or Sky but clearly a proportion of cards wouldn't be shown live. Sky in particular don't see the value in programming that isn't going to drive subs or command a large audience. The last Wilder fight was only seen by 35k which is a pitiful rating. Spike in fairness have been showing the PBC cards on delay and that's available on terrestrial. Streaming would be an option if Amazon/Netflix got involved in sport but that doesn't seem like happening.
Boxnation is good to an international audience, I like what they are doing n expanding but they are a British company and they do not have enough British fighters and cards going on for the business to be successful in the UK. Plus it only really appeals to the hardcore fan and most of money in terms of tickets and views are made from casual fans.
It came to our rescue, not that long after Setanta finished. Its output over its four years of international fights, my main interest, has been outstanding. I certainly have no complaints and hope it continues to flourish. Unlike Sky and others they don't generally send needless staff abroad too cover the shows, thus keeping costs down. I prefer it when they take the direct commentary from ringside, rather than the Jones/Rawling version and hope they do that with the two upcoming Golovkin, Cotto fights to add colour and authenticity to these mouth watering events.
Who is the best uk fighter they have signed on their books ATM and are they the best in Britain in their weight class?? Beefy smith Mitchell smith Conlan Flanagan Matthews Billy Jo Liam Walsh Jack catterall Few others I know.
We need to go back to the old days of "The Big Fight Liiiiiiiiive" on ITV :good also Midweek Sports Special, afternoon boxing on Grandstand or the "Daddy" ****ie Davis on World of Sport. ****ie is 82 now but I'd still have him over Adam Smith or Steve Bunce. Showing my age here
Wow they block the name D.ickie, the man is a legend, I might start a campaign to have that word released. "Free the D***" :think on second thoughts I might give it a miss, people might get the wrong idea
