" In the first sanctioned bareknuckle boxing match since 1889, former WBO cruiserweight title challenger Bobby Gunn defeated boxer Rich Stewart via KO in round three on Friday night at Fort McDowell Casino outside Phoenix, Arizona. With the win, organizers say Gunn claimed the vacant bareknuckle boxing title that was last held by John L. Sullivan. The bout was waved off after Gunn dropped Stewart twice in round three. Waking up the next day my hands were a bit sore, but that was the extent of the damage, said Gunn. Neither of us fighters suffered any real damage, due to the safety precautions that were put into place. - Fight news And how did they get this sanctioned?? :huh

Fort McDowell is not part of Arizona, it is tribal land of the Yavapai nation & the tribal council decide what happens on their land. That's why there are casinos built on tribal land all over the USA, they are not subject to state laws.
sorry, watered down bareknuckle rules does not make this man inheritor of john l. sullivan. if they fought true london rules then we'd discuss it, but don't put this guy's name with a hall of famer. not until he wins a couple dozen of these and or beats a top ten gloved boxer.
lol :rofl You got it mate, a bit of a slap in the face to the great John L Sullivan atsch Im a big fan, both my parents being Irish imigrants and my mother maden name being Sullivan :deal
