He also lost to Quintana.. and Williams eats right hands like Vargas eats nachos.. He's not p4p material.

Hatton also got demolished and koed when he moved up and fought Floyd who isn't considered to be a big puncher at 147. A similar fate would result if he was to again move up and fight any of the top welters. IMO he would also lose to the elite 135lbers as well including Pac and JMM who are also on the list. PTP beat Margarito who is the preceived best at 147 and I would also favor him over anyone currently at 154. For these reason Hatton is not more deserving than PTP but to each is own.

pbf was considered the clear p4p #1 at the time though. margo when williams fought him was about #30, so there's a big difference. you don't have to be able to move up in weight to be on the p4p list that's not how it works. and i disagree that he would lose to the elite lightweights.

being ko'd against mayweather shouldn't be regarded as any worse than losing on points bvy a wide UD, hatton is all or nothing, he forced pbf to fight rather than back pedalling and playing it safe.

Does Margarito fight any different when he was ranked at 30 than he does now ranked #6? I can't see anyone at 147 and 154 who can beat PTP mean while imo Hatton would get beaten by a number of fighters in the divisions above and below him.

The way I view the essence of the fictional P4P list is if all boxers were in the same weight class without gaining or losing any of their physical advantages that makes them who they are at their current weight then who would be considered the best. Hatton is not more deserving than PTP based on this criteria.

Which fighters at lightweight beat hatton because hatton will be able to bully them like pac. Hattons only loss was the best fighter on the planet.

hatton could probably starve himself to make 135 (like PW does for 147) and be one of the topdogs if not the man at lightweight. he's the man at 140 and won the wbc belt at 147. he's beat a top 3 p4p fighter in koysta and since then ko'd castillo who was around #8 p4p at the time, in 4 rounds who had never been ko'd before. he's just dominated malignaggi the #2 in his division and the most of the rest of his fights since koysta have been against defending beltholders. and apart from losing to mayweather hasn't come close to losing at 140.

    so what has williams done?

You think thats bad, ****ing Driving Miss Daisy is number 4, and Oscar, inexplicably is number 15. And he was 15 last year. I guess losing to PBF and beating lil' Stevie Forbes garnishes 2 #15's in a row!:nut :tired :verysad

They had a close fight and Hopkins has acheived more recently. It's pretty simple.

What, in beating Pavlik at an unnatural weight and losing to his father, Joe Calzaghe?

Moving up in weight to dominate Tarver.

    Beating Winky and Pavlik.

This is all better to me than beating Kessler and Roy Jones.

The Hopkins - Calzaghe fight was close, either man's hand could have been raised. So for me it comes down do the level of men you have beaten recently.

    Lacy?

We are speaking of elite fighters fighting other elite fighters.

We are not talking about Manfredo, Lacy or Howard Eastman.

but if hopkins didn't fake low blows and take a 5 minute break, calzaghe would have beaten him much more clearly, maybe even a TKO.
