I agree...With that reasoning Ricardo Lopez should be p4p#1 with Rocky Marciano at #2 all time.

It was too late for me to edit, but yes I should of mentioned Margarito. Comparison between Williams and Hatton are close. Hatton only lost once to the best P4P fighter. Priorer to Williams taking on Q, alot of posters were saying that Williams is just going to go through Cotto's leftovers. Q wins and then Williams takes him seriously the second time around. We can desect there resumes and find out who has the better resume, but Williams best win is Marg. If he makes it, why Dawson the two time belt winner or Vitali or his brother who owns two other belts.

he was outclassed...his skill set is not a p4p skill set...but that being said the guy is good..he beat my boy and he deserves to be on there...however to say he is a beyyer boxer than bad chad JML Wlad and Vitaly? and AM too is a suspect choice as is cotto at 8

It should be based on who you beat and how good and recent you beat them.

If anything Calzaghe should be number 10 with hopkins #9.

    1. Manny Pacquiao
    2. Juan Manuel Marquez
    3. Joe Calzaghe
    4. Bernard Hopkins
    5. Israel Vasquez
    6. Antonio Margarito
    7. Rafael Marquez
    8. Miguel Cotto
    9. Chad Dawson
    0. Paul Williams

Thats more like it -- Why no Dawson talk??? He beat Tarver even more convincingly than BHOP and beat a very very dangerous Glen Johnson at 175 in close but clear UD. Anyone that knows boxing can see that Dawson has skills... he also has a chin. He took bombs from G. Johnson and never went down, and only seemed to be stunned once.

Thats why Paul Williams must be on this list.. He can be dangerous at 147 all the way up to 160

I don't see how it's debatable. Williams stays on the list, whether you have to make room for Hatton or not.

Interestingly enough, I'm actually a big Margarito fan, but Williams has paid his dues and now deserves some credit.

He beat "the man at 147", and has been knocking his other opponents out in the 1st round, one of them at 160! The true definition of a P4P fighter, who irrespective of the bull****, is a legitimate Welterweight when he gets on the scales.

Because his best wins are against a war torn Johnson, a fight many felt he lost, and another old horse in Tarver.

It's interesting that many of Calzaghe's critics have been criticising Joe for fighting old men, whereas his supposed rival has been doing the exact same thing.

Dawson is a good fighter, and making the right steps, but he hasn't proved his worth of a P4P fighter just yet, in my opinion.

I don't understand? Vlad and Vitili, Ali, Lewis could not move up neither. If you dominate your weight class like Duran and Whitaker at 135, sure you can be class as P4P.

    I agree.

You can make room for Hatton if you wish, based on a win over Paulie Malinaggi, but Williams has been more consistant and successful in a wider array of weight classes.

Hatton moved up to 147 and went life and death with Collazo, lost decisively to Floyd, looked shakey against Lazcano, and dominated Paulie Malinaggi.

If that is more impressive that beating Margarito, avenging a defeat by knockout in the 1st round, moving up to 160 and then getting another 1st round knockout, then by all means, leave Williams off of your list.

    We'll agree to disagree.

Pound for pound is not soley about moving weight. Anyway Hatton won a belt at 147 and was stopped by the p4p no1, and an ATG.

Cotto did little at 140, and can't fight there now, and certainly couldn't move up either - does that make him not P4P material in your eyes to? Margo has never achieved anything outside of 147 so whats he doing there as well... Hopkins beat Tarver at LH... that is his only victory really against a non middle... is he not a P4P fighter as well... Calzaghe beat Hopkins outside his weight (Hopkins a career middle), is Calzaghe not P4P material as well...

picture hatton vs PW at 147...if hatton is higher p4p he should be able to win that fight...i think he gets stopped
