Ok lads, the joke`s over. I know your deliberately not mentioning "Scottish" Craig McEwan just to wind me up!!!! Outclassed Lee`s conqueror Vera without even training for the bout. Check it out on You Tube, then watch Lee v Vera and tell me Craig wouldn`t beat Andy!

Ah! your hole man, i want Lee to win a title as much as anybody, i'm just trying to be realistic and make an honest assessment on his chances.

Everybody is overrating macklin since his win over asikainen who by the way was always chinny just ask the ko artist gevor lol. Lee is to fight in ireland again in april i think and if he kos his next opponent everybody will be swinging from his nuts again making out that they never doubted him and i will find this quite funny.......

I thought Golovkin was rated #1 in both orgs that Pavlik has belts in (WBO & WBC?). Being #1 doesn't make you mandatory?

Pirog only has what 15 fights? He sure stepped it up fast.

There are a lot of parallels between the two.In the pros the speed, power, and toughness is so much more than what the cllege players have faced before. Those who can take the hits and get up to speed will suceed.Likewise in boxing if you can cope with the speed and power of the top fighters then you can compete at that level.

The list of upcoming middleweights intrigues me, as 160 has always been my favourite division.I just wish we could see more of these esp. Golovkin, he seems to have the most potential

Who the hell knows what the orgs will do:patsch

I thought that Golovkin wanted Sturm. That may be the reason he hasn't gotten a WBC or WBO eliminator.:think

Pirog had a fight today in Moscow. TKo 5 over good journeyman but he didnt impressed me. Erik was on his feets when they stoped the fight, Pirog was winning rounds but after Mitchel started to strike back with succesful combos and they stoped the fight after Pirog's combo. And it wasnt legit stoppage.
Upd: On boxrec wrote it was an injury but i havn't seen any

McEwan definitely belongs on the list of youngsters to watch (especially when they first step it up).

Craig is trying to get a fight with Danny Jacobs. That is the sort of thing the division really needs: prospect vs prospect, contender vs contender.

There is a sort of changing of the guard going on at 160 right now. If you look at the list of guys Pavlik, Taylor, and Abraham fought, it's easy to see thay cleared the division out.

Now there really are no top contenders for these rising prospects to fight. They need to sort things out among themsleves instead of fighting journeymen.

And as usual per this extremely frustrating sport, only a handful will get a chance due to the incompetence and insecurity of their handlers. :-(

If you haven't looked into what all the fuss is about regarding Hassan N'Dam N'jikam, for instance, there's a ton of video linked up in my thread in the Euro forum. He looks like he has more upside than any of the old guard did when they were on the way up, but if he keeps getting set up with regional level fringe contenders in France he'll never build up the appropriate level of experience and won't know what to do if he ever is thrown in with a champion level type like a Pavlik (assuming he ever is).

Jacobs has turned down McEwan again though he has no opponent for 1st May. Freddy Roach and Craig McEwan want to fight Danny and by all accounts GBP want to set it up but Jacob`s people are saying "no". They should be brave! If Danny is world class material, why does he fear Craig? Is it because Craig is too similar to Korobov?

Sorry Barry , I didn`t though I will, but this is the pros. And, as I`m sure you know, it isfoolish to extrapolate professional quality from amateur. Are you hinting that John and Andy would beat Craig now? I refer you to the "Vera Comparison".
