Did Vitali win that "war"? No he lost. To the worst version of Lennox Lewis which ever entered the ring. Wladimir Klitschko won a rough fight against Sam Peter where he was floored 3 times. Not a War, but a good tough fight..something in which Vitali has never recorded a victory in.

Being in a war and losing doesn't prove greatness at all, especially against a 37 year old on his last legs.

It seems different rules apply for different fighters on this subject..first time Jones Jr had to dig deep all we heard was "see, we told you all along he was **** and he was ducking Tarver" even though he won the fight :huh

I don't remember you saying that in 1997. I said myself around that time that I thought they were both potential champs "once Lewis was out of the way" and I think my prediction was better than yours :deal

I also remember you banging on about how great Valuev was going to be back in those days too, with excessive references to how tall he was. Give a man a blindfold and eventually he'll throw a dart into the bullseye and all that :nut

I know....it actually says that on Boxrec now, right after "L TKO6" on VITLAYS record.

It also says it on VITLAYS Wiki page but I reckon someones edited that.

I read about a British amateur the other week who's supposed to be a bit special, but I can't remember his name. All I remember is he's black and about 6 foot 9 or something similar and has a ridiculous KO percentage. I think if he works on his jab and stamina and grows dreads and a beard he'll retire with a better record than Marciano.

Wish I could remember his name, but when he becomes champion remember where you heard it first.

I hope that some posters will remember my older posts. I once talked about what I call the hierarchy of greatness.

    1) All-time great
    2) Legend
    3) Great

Lennox is on the top level. Vitali is only on the third.

His name is Audley Harrison and he is only 6'5 1/2. I am waiting for him to turn pro too. :D

Not impressed with this Camerelle guy at all. Did someone actually say he is better than Wlad? This guy throws wild flappy arm punches, Wlad throws straight precision shots with leverage behind them. Wlad is in a different league technically. The only one who comes close to wlad technically in the punching department is Haye. Haye knows how to punch with leverage. That right hand he hit ruiz with in round 1 came out of nowhere. That is why Wlad vs Haye needs to happen! Let the fireworks begin.
