Pac style used to be go forward, double right jab, straight left. The old Pac would've eaten stiff powerful jabs from Cotto all night. Not like that anymore past 3 fights. Pac had to respect the power from the higher weight divisions. Unlike Hatton, Pac WILL respect Cotto's power, like De La Hoya, get in quick punches-then get out. His quick feet, reflexes, and speed is his defense. (for reference see Pac-De La Hoya and Pac-Hatton fights, see how often, or not, he gets hit).

Now, Cotto's defense. As always, he covers up real well. But as you should know, in boxing, a great offense beats a great defense (except for Mayweather). Pac has never had trouble with any defense he's faced, Cotto will be no exception. Cotto will not see Pacs punches, Oscar couldn't see them, Hatton couldn't see them, ...Cotto will not see them.

Why should they? There's no guarantee he can make 147. Talks cheap and he has NOT been fighting at 147 (regardless of reasons). Dude's been callling out big names. Everyone does that. What happens when (pre-jail) Kirkland calls him out. He says Kirkland is not KNOWN enough for him (IRONY). Or when Allen Green does it? Pretend it didn't happen. Look I am a big fan of Williams, but I can see his resume is NOT very deep and no one really is obligated to fight him. For the most part, he wasn't a mandatory, nor does he bring big money to guys looking to make it, as he is. He isn't in a division long enough to garner a high ranking (thankfully money is a mutha****a...)

I am ****in GLAD he is fighting Pavlik next, because if he wasn't, it might be Sergei or not, but GOOSEN (not Williams) woulds still talk that bull****. It's nuthuggers like you and WWM who make people haters. LIke I said, I am his fan, I like him...but that doesn't mean I can't see why you annoy people. NOw go ahead cry, call me a hater, talk ****...but refute what I said first.

I think that Pwill is closing in on the top 5. If he managed to beat Pavlik he will go into the top three with the winner of Mayweather/Marquez and Cotto/Pac

Really? If Pavlik beat him, would you put Pavlik in the top three?

Let me get this straight.:huh If Pavlik is a has been, how does Williams go into the top 3 by beating him? If Pavlik wins, then according to you he doesn't accomplish much. You are not rating PW that high after all, so you claiming PW will be the next p4p is nonsense.

He's definitely making the right moves towards being at least a contender for P4P king. It's a shame more fighters can't be as willing as him.

My only concern is if he beats Pavlik, what other fights are there for him? I can't see him ever fighting at welterweight again.

That only leaves you with fights against people like Sturm, Spinks etc. Unless he can move up again.

If he beats Pavlik he is automatically my #2 guy. I mean dominating from 147-160, isn't that the definition of P4P

Nope cause Pavlik right now is not in the top ten p4p while williams is. If Pavlik beats Williams, he should be in the top 8 or 7 p4p. But if Williams can beat Pavlik then Williams should be in the top 3 or top 4 p4p cause look at his resume from 2008 to 2009 koing Quintana in the first round in the rematch, Ko Kolle in the same round at mw, Making Verno quit at 154 pounds and then easily beating Wright to decision win. If he manage to beat Pavlik, how can Williams not be consider as top 3 or top 4 p4p? And Williams will be a big underdog going into this fight.

He's hardly dominating 147-160. The top three fighters at 147 are: Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather and he hasn't fought any of them yet. At 154 he has only beaten one champion. If he beats Pavlik though, that would put him on the right track and would be a huge accomplishment.

I agree...he's gonna be one of the best in the game, in his era. He's not incredibly fast but he's not slow either. But he's an incredible boxer with stamina on anther level. He's multi demensional and solid all around. he's truly a specail fighter.

Nah, if a WW like Quintana can embarrass him for 12 full rounds..... I dunno :think... I think Forrest (RIP),Sergey or Martinez would have taken him out at 154 already.

If he stays below 168, then maybe!
