Floyd and Pac are rapidly approaching the end of their illustrious careers, and regardless of which boxer you prefer, what is not in doubt is their PPV status. I've been watching and waiting to see if an obvious fighter emerged any time soon to take that place, but I can't really see one. The most obvious candidates would be Canelo and, if he can get his act together, Ward in terms of having the sustainability required to be a huge PPV star, but even there I have my doubts. GGG is great to watch, but I can't see him transcending to the casual fan on the same level as the previously mentioned fighters. Kovalev the same. Who do you see it being?
The Special One Kell Brook will be the man to end the Mayweather reign and thus take over him as a PPV mega star. :deal
Garcia or GGG should be the next PPV stars but Canelo really brings all Mexico with him. He is the one
Thurman's exciting, if he can get a few big wins an keeps improving then he could end up a PPV draw, who knows
its going to be hard since del la hoya passed the torch to mayweather..then mayweather slowed his roll and pac came in ppv status and mayweather took it back..when both of these retire i assume the next draw would be Canelo....although not an eye sore or a must watch/buy, i dont mind watching canelo's fight.
Hopefully PPV dies out. I think PayPerView is more or less responsible for boxing not having a footing in mainstream sport. You bet your behind, if Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and others fought on regular, there'd be much more general interest in boxing.
