I dont understand why so many Ward fans hate on Froch and try to make out he is a poor fighter, in doing so they are wrecking Wards resume imo and doing Ward a diservice.
Anyone who thinks Froch hasnt paid his dues and earned his hype does not understand the world of boxing.

Not all Ward fans. I'm a big fan of both Froch and Ward possibly with a slight lean towards Froch. The only thing I don't like about Froch is he makes excuses about the Ward fight calling him a spoiler which isn't the case. Ward was exciting in his fight with Froch. Carl should just admit he got beat by the better man that night and move on. I would like to see Froch give Pascal a rematch since he said he would years ago. Their first fight was an underrated war and I would love to see them do it again.

How can you say Froch is hyped, most people in the UK did not even know who Froch was 1 year ago and to be honest even now most don't know he he is. That is despite the fact that he has been fighting the best fighters in his division for years.

As a Ward fan, I would never hype a fighter he beat, to make his resume look better. 'Til this day I still see Mikkel Kessler as Ward's best win, if he would have beaten Dawson at 175, i'd have him as his best win, but I got Dawson as his 4th best, while Froch is #2 and Bika #3, Abraham as his 5th best win.

Froch is a very good fighter, he's obviously above just "good", based on his resume. Ward beat a very good fighter, but that's where the praise ends. If you think he's great, that's your opinion. But to me, I think too many fighters beat him around his weight class. A great fighter either rarely loses, if he does lose he avenges his losses or was just way past prime, or loses to no one. Those great fighters of the past who have 4-5 losses, those losses are between wins against the same guys who beat them. Froch would never in his wildest dreams beat Ward, Dirrell, Dawson, or Hopkins.

Well I guess it boils down to interpretation of hype..... I'm not suggesting in general because boxing is not a mainstream sport, so I wouldn't expect the general public to know him. I'm referring amongst boxing circles, where it has been suggested he's the best thing since Lennox, deserves to be on the pound for pound list and is a PPV star. To me that's hype.

Froch is a little over-hyped, but the guy earn it the hard way, He had a very solid resume with great fighters on it, (some loses, some wins). For me He needs to avoid Ward for now and focused on other boxers like Kessler third fight and Stieglitz, both fights are winnable big in Europe and will give him a lot of money. Then move up to light heavy and fight Cleverly in a big British fight.

Thats just nature of hardcore boxing fans tho, they take their fave fighters and elevate them. Look at fighters like Broner atm. People just back their boxers corners and big them up in same way the boxers big themselfs up. Every honest person knows Ward won clearly and even Froch knows it deep down, problem is Froch cant admit it without it damaging his cofidence (same for any boxer). Fans do admit it tho, or alteast most.

His achievements are helped by the fact that he's operated in a very hyped, but talentless division. It says a hell of a lot that an inexperienced, green Ward can walk right in and beat the number one guy of the division, Kessler, with ease. And it says even more that, despite everyone believing Froch to have a better legacy/resume than Calzaghe, absolutely no one would fancy his chances in a fight against him. Which suggests his abilities/skills don't quite match up to what he's praised as.

And it's also important to remember that over the past three years or so, the top three most impressive fighters at 168 (with regards to talent, skill and potential) have probably been Ward, Kessler and Dirrell - all of who Froch lost to, in my opinion. And if he was to make that move up to 175 -- something that's very normal for 168 fighters -- he'd hit a brick wall against the best in that division, too (Dawson and maybe Hopkins).

Now, the above may come across as a very critical, harsh analysis, and one that won't be welcomed during a time where the props for Froch are at their highest, but still, we have to remind ourselves that, despite him regularly facing the best, he doesn't actually always win against them.

So much wrong with that, where to start?!

He has fought EVERYONE of note in his weight class. 2 have beaten him, and he has just avenged one of those losses.

I would say two losses in a 33 fight career is 'rarely losing' to be honest...especially when one is avenged...so he has basically only not beaten one guy he's faced.

How many people 'lose to no one'? Marciano, Calzaghe, Valero...and?

Froch will have another crack at Ward, and it will be an entertaining fight...news for you dude, he DID beat Dirrell, so no point crying about it. Dawson and Hopkins aren't in his weight class, so that contradicts your first highlighted sentence.

How in the **** can people not know a talent and warrior like Carl Froch in the UK? He's your best fighter and should be a household name.

Well, he made the front page of the Sun over here about 2 days after the fight, so people will start to hear about him now he's on the crest of a wave, but yeah, the fights people haven't seen are ridiculous...
