Could be, but they have considered others. I don't like Rematch clauses, it's like saying if I lose I get another shot, has a very negative context to it. Too many fighters want a shot at the title, once you have had your shot and lost you should get back in line. That would make fighters more hungry after having to fight thier way back and would make the Title more valuable. Did not michael Jennings take an eliminator against Gary McMillan before injury ruled him out after only losing on cuts to the best Welterweight in Britain at present Kel Brook, Jennings who has fought at a higher level then any other Welter.

 

The problem is theres not rankings for the British title so theres no logical clue of who is in line. I do not udnerstand why McMillan was put forward.

 

I don't mind rematch clauses in the right instances.

Too often we see soft opponents chosen for voluntary defences of the British title..... almost allowing a fighter to get a Lonsdale for keeps by fighting guys in the lower half of the top 10.

Ideally we'd have a set of rankings issued by the board, or every defence being mandatory.

As it is, there seems to be no criteria, other than ''don't take the ****'' and ''will Sky accept it?''.

 

yeh it should be a mandatory or someone in the top 5. The talent pool in the UK is not that deep.

 

I don't think we're too bad all things considered, when you think that there's 15 weight classes (we don't really have 105 & 108 really) and promoters reluctant to make the best fights.

Room for improvement though.

 

The British boxing board need to put one in place, but still everyone has an idea who are the top 5 at least, maybe even top ten, then take into account who has left Briitish level, you can then produce a final 15 Including different champions, past champions, champions moving up in weight and Young Prospects ( unbeaten if pos ). I have no prob with Nasser al harbi I like him but he defo does not deserve a British title shot plus he is no where near ready IMO but I have no problem what's so ever his a nice kid who I have always got on with so problem no I have always got on with him

 

Don't worry mate, your favourite is in the top 5, my mistake forgot to type him in, wish I had would saved me a lot of brain energy getting last few. If Craig Watson comes on this forum, sorry mate, you are a good fighter and deserve to be on. Now I know why the BBB of C don't want to do it. The reason I picked a top 15, oh **** 16, is because, a lot of fights can't be made because of promoters, Injury, Television, negotiation or just politics. Top 5 : Purdy, Watson, Jennings, Vassell and O'donnell , Not in order ( Who will fight each other though ? That is the question ) This is British level Kel and Matt have moved up.

You think you are ready for Amir Khan but you are not ready he would stop you inside 3 rounds, you have not fought anyone yet, when you do we will see, you don't have punch resistance, rumour has it a young Birmingham Boxer named Thomas Costello knocked you out cold in Sparing, so you should not be rubbishing other fighters, that are not a part of your ex England and GB click. You love the lime light, but don't like it when other fighters try to get it, you should be ashamed of yourself. You praise the other Birmingham Boxers to the heavens even if they fail, yet you rubbish young Al Harbi and then claim you like and get on well with him, iif he has friends like you who needs enemies. I will send the Al Harbi's what you have wrote, along with other posts you have made. I hope they never speak to you again or even better when the young unbeaten 21 year old Al Harbi reaches his full maturity and you get to fat for Light Welter and move up which will happen, I hope you meet then !
