Lately i am surprised at the amount of people picking Young to be stopped or potentially stopped. Very recently i see it in fantasy matches vs Holmes and Patterson. Not exactly a common occurrence is it? He was stopped once ever barring cuts one time. This was by Shavers when Young had just 10 fights under the belt and Shavers 45. With another 7 bouts and just under two years of experience Young drew Shavers over 10. The fight before this he decisioned Jose Luis Garcia who stopped Norton 12 months later. Straight after Shavers he decisioned Lyle over 10. Soon after he went 15 with Ali, easily decisioned Lyle again this time over 12 then went another 12 next fight with Foreman. He soon after lost a split decision vs Norton over 15 some believe he won. Past prime he went the distance vs up and comers Page, Dokes, Tubbs and Tucker. He also beat fringe bombers such as Sims and Racette. He gave Cooney hell before being stopped on cuts. That's one hell of a resume for just one single (concussion) stoppage. You be the judge. Is Jimmy's endurance getting sold short?
As a Jimmy fan(yes I'm a fan of both Ali & Young what are the odds lol), I do think his endurance is being underrated in fantasy matchups. He only really got dropped when he was green and also when he was overweight he still finished fights on his feet. The man has a pretty solid resume too if only he was awarded the decisions in the Norton & Ali & Shavers 2 bouts though I still see him getting into the hall eventually.
