I know, another express, this is getting loungy. Anyway, today I had a major off day. I felt like a total idiot at times, my body simply did not cooperate. My motor skills were totally gone. At some point I tried to throw two punches at the same time! I did some bag work first and felt that something was ****ed. To make things worse my trainer told me to put on the sparring gloves and get ready. I had to spar a guy much better than me, which of course is good because I can learn a lot from him. I got my ass kicked. Which is fine, the guy is much better than me, much faster also, but it was a decent learning experience anyway. I got a little better as the rounds went by, we did about 5 rounds. He'll kick my ass anytime he wants to though. What really bothered me was this. He hit me on top of the head with a right hook at some point. My lights went almost out and I started going down. I "regained conciousness" (I wasn't completely out but dazed and going down nonetheless) a second before my hands touched the canvas so I was able to stay up. I've been hit on top of the head before and it never bothered me that much. He hit me with a left hook there as well a round earlier and it got me a little dizzy. I think I may have been dehydrated or something.
I can count the times I've been drunk in the last 3 months on one hand! I almost forgot I was really drunk last week because I did not go out
sounds like you were dehydrated. first sighs of dehydration is just being thristy...then dry scratchy throat mouth...feels like you just ate sand.
Sounds like you need to rest. If nothing is right the moment you throw the first punch, then that is a sign of overworking.
In hindsight, I think he hit me harder then it felt at that moment, I have several bumps on my head. I also still think I wasn't properly hydrated, I felt too sluggish. Let's see how it goes today.
Sometimes when dehydrated rather than just drinking loads of water, eat some extra carbs as well.....Dehydration is a big downer in performance and potentially dangerous.
You got hit with a good shot at the right spot. I don't think it has anything with dehydration. Maybe you are overtraining but that's another issue.
