For those not knowing, thats "Polish Power" Boxing Thread!:D

Great Cruiser Weight Title fight tonight (IBF & Ring Mag) between Steve "USS" Cunningham vs Tomasz "Goral" Adamek in Newark, NJ's Prudential Center.
Size doesn't seem to be a factor. They seem pretty even, though USS is an 1 1/2" taller. Its the reach that has me concerned. USS has an 82" reach compared to Adameks 75".

Heres a good fight analysis, even though I don't agree final his final prediction.

    http://www.fightwriter.com/?q=node/1999

It will be shown on TV's VS Network starting at 8pm/et.

Anyone know why Cunningham & David Haye never got it on???

    Anyway..

    (((((((((((((((((((((GO ADAMEK)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I have tons of respect for Steve. Physically awesome with damn good boxing skills. This is gonna be a tough fight for Adamek to win, but I have faith in him. He sure as hell is not gonna give the poor showing he did against Dawson. That much I can guarantee!

I'm down with the whole Polish pride thing--you guys are hilarious--but Cunningham takes this.

That's a pretty decent analysis in the article. Cunningham is far from a stationary target and this might cause Adamek to have problems getting off his barrage. He has also proven to be an intelligent clincher, doing it at just the right times and not relying on it excessively. If Adamek's chin is up to the task (and we think it should be), he should get in Steve's face and try to restrict his movement. I am not sure if Adamek can win this fight by boxing, like he did with Bell and defeat USS at his own game. I believe that if Adamek forces this to be a brawl (of which he is more than capable), his chances of winning increase greatly. Whatever happens Adamek needs to have a good plan B, which was missing againt Dawson. On the other hand, Cunnigham has never been in with as intelligent a boxer/puncher as Adamek. This is like Wlodarczyk times 10, in terms of output and quality of punches. In short, Cunnigham is facing the toughest fight of his career. This will be Adamek's second toughest fight for sure. In any case, great match-up.

From Godfather Golota to the champion Adamek to the up and coming superstar Proksa, Polish boxing has grown tremendously in just a few short years. Go Golota, Adamek, Wlodarczyk,Proksa and others as well as my next door polish fighter from Brampton, the current Canadian heavyweight champion Greg "The Steele Pole" Kielsa!

He doesn't fight small and the difference in size (except for reach) is not that significant.

It didn't play a factor when Pacman lite up Oscar. But thats apples compared to oranges. The fighter that displays the most ring intelligence tonight will win & I don't think size will matter.

I agree about Adamek needing to adjust if things aren't working out at first. And I believe he will be able to adjust. I think Adamek will do a little of everything. Stay outside & box. Go inside with short power punches & brawl. But I can tell you this...once Adamek lands solid & flush, you will see a different Cunn in there.

Its gonna be a terrific fight, that I'm sure. May the best man win. Just can't believe I'm not goning to this event. I could be there in like 30 minutes or less.

No, Adamek will not be on 1st. Not sure how many prelim's they'll show. But for sure, we will see the IBF bantemweight (118 lbs) Championship before the main event.
