After seeing that thread on Mayweather's thoughts of a Cotto matchup, and his bull**** excuses, and most shamefully, how people were trying to back him up and act like he made decent arguments, it's fair to say I'm on the train.
I just took a huge **** on the back of the train. He will fight Cotto or lose his P4P status. Once that is gone, he will have to fight him. Floyd is making money off of that status alone. If he retires once they snatch it from the ODH farce fight, then you can talk ****. His mind is not in the game anymore, he lost his hunger. **** happens, like the **** I took on the back of Amsterdam's train.
Can't say I agree, but from the looks of things I'm very unlikely to persuade you today... I've voted "Mayweather is God" - not an accurate reflection of what I think, but closer than the other option. Yes, I wish he'd fight Cotto too, but (1) IMO he is the best fighter, pound for pound, in the world at the moment, and (2) you talk like he's been inactive for years. He fought another top-10 p4p guy less than 5 months ago.
Now that's an analysis mate, very good work, keep it and make a thread sometime to document it, it may make you look like a genius.:yep :good
First of all save the Long analysis. You klowns had the same analysis about Ricky Hatton and that he was too much pressure for Floyd. Any boxing nut can see and will admit that the kind of pressure and wrestling Hatton put on Tzu and JCC you expected him to put on Floyd and guess what, they all said the same thing..."Speed Kills! His defense was impecable and his punching power is underatted" Tyson said it best, "Everyone has a plan until they get hit!" Floyd doesnt waste punches and so all this he has footwork, he has stamina...uh....Floyd has seen it before! Cotto is no different and aside from ONE article, Cotto is not making noise to call Floyd out like Ricky did and we all saw what happended to him right? Mosley pressed Cotto, Zab stunned him, Torres knocked him down and Chop Chop almost knocked him out. None of these fighters, what the exception of Mosley, doesnt hold a candlestick to Floyds skill. Please dont elevate anyone else to getting a butt whoopin!
By that esteemed logic Cotto's record is disgraceful. Seeing how they both fought the same level fighters. Except you know Floyd didnt nearly lose to Oscar like Cotto did to a 36 year old, :yep
OK, if you don't think they are equal, why do you hold Cotto to Mayweather's high standard? That's what you clearly did. DO you not KNOW when your doing that or something?
I'm not anti-Mayweather, and don't really have a huge problem with him being at number one. You yourself say the number 1 slot should be vacant if not occupied by Mayweather, but why shouldn't someone have to surpass him for the spot? I'm not a big fan of what Money's been doin' lately either, but still.. of all the P4P's that have come and gone since Mayweather's been in the top 10 he's the ONLY one that's still there.. that alone amounts to something, in my eyes.
Thanks Am:good I'm still not happy with it actually. My goal is to cover this from every angle and not miss a thing, so I'll watch more film with complete focus this weekend or next weekend. I'll put up a thread once I'm finished with it.
Brilliant post mate. Everyone on ESB should take the time to read this, very precise analysis of the fight. Impressive.
BTW, i totally agree with your post mate. I have been saying the same thing for a very long time. The majority of posters on here said i was nuthugging early on, but as time moves forward more and more people seem to be coming to the same realisation. Especially after the Judah and Mosley fights.
