I place my bets on Sportsbetting.com couple of years ago I turned $100 to $500+ but lost it all on pavlik/hopkins. This summer I thought I'd give it other shot and deposited $10 to my account, right now my balance is $108. my last 3 bets were

    Parlay (4 Teams) 10/22/09 15:29 ET
bet 15.00 to win 22.54 Result: Pending

    Miranda vs Sierra
    Edison Miranda -800

    Fonseca vs Seeger
    Victor Fonseca -260

    McCall vs Whitaker
    Oliver McCall -295

    Adamek vs Golota
    Tomasz Adamek -500

    Parlay (3 Teams) 10/04/09 21:53 ET
bet 30.00 to win 44.34 (paid 74.34) Result: Wager Won

    Nathan Cleverley 1
    Courtney Fry 0 10/09/09(16:30 ET)
    Nathan Cleverley -1000

    Arthur Abraham 1
    Jermaine Taylor 0 10/17/09(16:00 ET)
    Arthur Abraham -300

    October Fight Matchups
    Carl Froch 1
    Andre Dirrell 0 10/17/09(16:00 ET)
    Carl Froch -145

my next coming up bet is

    Parlay (2 Teams) 10/18/09 17:03 ET
bet 50.00 to win 23.33 Result: Pending

    Adamek vs Golota
    Tomasz Adamek
    Andrew Golota 10/24/2009(13:30 ET)
    Tomasz Adamek -500

    Dawson vs Johnson
    Chad Dawson
    Glen Johnson 11/07/2009(21:30 ET)
    Chad Dawson -450

I had the most success with parlays. I've made good money with round props too but its much riskier. I never bet more than half of my account balance on any fight after I lost it all on hopkins/pavlik.

While your short term winning looks nice, your strategy isn't profitable in the long run. You are betting far to much based on your bankroll. While these fights seem like easy money, eventually one of the fighters will lose and you'll kill your roll.

yeah well you wont always win them all. I try to avoid betting on fighters I havent seen or am not sure about. sometimes if a fighter is over -1000 I'll add him to the parley anyways. parpays can be risky but the pay out is a lot better than single fight bets.

    new bet

    Bet $20.00
    to Win $30.77

    Dawson vs Johnson
    11/07/2009 Chad Dawson -450
    21:30 ET

    Valuev vs Haye
    11/07/2009 David Haye -200
    16:30 ET

    Kessler vs Ward
    11/21/2009 Mikkel Kessler -260
    21:30 ET

I'm a bit worried bout putting Haye on this parlay but valuev is **** so he should be able to pull it off. I think those are great odds for all 3 fights tho. seems like a safe bet.

No. Thats to risky really... Your better off taking low risk high / even pay parlays like me.

Lenin, your betting style is very similar to mine. I also take the low risk good pay confident parlays like you.

BUT, me, unlike many other bettors, I mix sports.

This is a bet i just won tonight:

    Wager Type:

    Parlay(6 team) Wager Status: Won
    Risk: $30.00 (USD)

To Win Amount: $64.92 (USD) -
    Amount Paid: $93.24 (USD)
    -

Indianapolis Colts over Rams, New England Patriots over Bucs, Saints over Tuna, Tomasz Adamek over Golota, Barcelona over Real Zaragoza or w/e u spell it, FC Girondins Bordeauxover Lens.

Also if I were you id stay away from Valuev - Haye cause that fight has upset written all over it. Kessler and Dawson seem good bets to include in parlays, but I dont know much about Andre Ward so im going to have to watch some Ward fights to determine if Kessler is parlay worthy. Or ill ust read some posts and see if anyone knowledgeable here can convince me that Kessler is a sure winner.....

good look andyZ but I dont know if I can **** with mixing sports. I feel a lot more confident bout betting on boxing because it's one dude vs another dude. with teams you never know how they'll perform as a team, a lot more factors involved

I'm going to sound like an *******, but after making a living sports gambling I just recently quit about 2 months ago. I have some idea of what I'm talking about here.

Truushot is exactly right when he says that your bankroll management is incorrect. If I were you I would either invest more, or bet less. For pro-gamblers, betting more than 5% of your total bankroll is considered extremely risky. Although I guess if it's just for fun, then it's no big deal -- do what you want.

Like I said, I quit a couple of months ago. But I do still have one last huge bet pending, which is on Cotto to beat Pacquiao @ 7/4. I'm not sure if any of you know about line movement, but the price for Cotto - following either 24/7 or the Figuroa statement - moved from 7/4 to 15/8 on Sunday. I'd like to know why, if anyone knows. Since if anything, that suggests I may be wrong... I still like the bet and I think the number may balloon even further once the Filipinos hit Vegas.

As a disclaimer, while I made a living betting on sports, it was mostly NBA, NFL, MLB and WNBA. I have been so-so at boxing. (I had both RJJ and Bhop over Calzaghe). That said I am extremely confident about Cotto beating Pac.

Also, I could be tempted to play the money on Valuev. IMHO will be just too big and Haye will quit on the fight around round 4.

Sorry, one last thing. Lenin, the payout for parlays is of course better than single fights for the sole reason that they are less likely to win. The bookies are not in the business of giving gifts. And the way that the payout is calculated for multiples actually increases the house edge by 1-2% for each additional bet that you add. Sorry if I sound like a dick head/geek.

nick - Valuev/Haye I have done very little looking into, so I could easily be wrong.

Regards Pac/Cotto - the line is moving in a direction that suggests either Vegas doesn't know who's gonna win, or they're invested in a Pac win. Nothing the bookies are doing is suggesting they think Cotto has a chance. This is normally a huge red-flag.

I personally feel Pac has overstepped on this one. P4P he is monstrous. No doubt about that. Switch the size advantages and Cotto is balls to the wall slaughtered. But Cotto has never lost to a smaller guy, he can handle speed, he is the hardest puncher Pac has faced, by far, and if he can take plaster hands for 11 rounds, I feel he can take Pac's shots. I also feel that while Cotto can adjust to fight the fight he needs to, Manny cannot. He has one style. My only fear is that Pac jumps on Cotto and annihilates him within 2 rounds.
