Here is your chance ESB MEMEBERS Vote and show what you think of Margarito. Is he the cheat people are saying he is or is he being rail road to soon . is he innocent?

is it possible that he had no idea what was being put on his hands?

drop your vote and take your stand.

Is it possible that he had no idea what was being put on his hands?

    Absolutely, yes.

Did he know? I'm not sure, but there is more than a possibility considering all of the facts.

Fact number 1: The CSAC didn't spot anything wrong. Nazim did. If the CSAC can miss the deficiency then so can Margarito.

Fact number 2: Shane Mosley gone on record saying that the knuckle pad looked normal, so he doesn't believe anything should be done to Margarito

Fact number 3: Capetillo used the knuckle pad in the presence of both the CSAC and Richardson. If he intended to knowingly cheat, why would he?

Fact number 4: The only eye witness account of the hearing has gone on record saying how it was not a fair trial. No evidence was brought to the table.

Fact number 5: Margarito raised his hand to willingly let Nazim and the commission check his hand-wrapping.

Considering all of the above, and Margarito's clean-cut history in the sport of Boxing, I don't believe he knew. But I was just outlining that there is a possibility, and I believe all of the aforementioned points, all of which are facts, would suggest so.

I don't think CA state comm. would ban him for a year if there wasn't something illegal going on... Guilty in my book

    That is not the question.

The hand-wrapping has been deemed illegal, irrespective of what comes out in Mid-March.

But is there a possibility that Antonio Margarito was unaware? I believe so, and according to the only professional fighter who has both seen and touched the "illegal substance", he thinks the same.

    Oh in that case....

I think the excuse that Margarito was "unaware" is complete and utter nonsense... anyone that has had their hands wrapped before knows this... Its a real sorry excuse honestly and anyone buying it is just in denial in my books.. but who knows , can't say for sure. But I find it REALLY hard to believe that he was unaware about it.

I wonder if Shane Mosley has ever had his hands wrapped? :yep

Keep in mind, the question is a simple one, is there a possibility that Margarito was unaware?

The keyword in this post was "guessing".

Dan Raphael uses this as basis for his latest articles.

good post selfkill. is there a possibility margo didn't know? -no.but i gotta go with the old "common ****ing sense" and say, he did..i mean, margos a long time professional in this sport. with all the "hand wrappings" throughout his career, one would have to be a pretty stupid mother not to notice any difference.and if he really is that ****in stupid to not to realize or question it, then maybe he deserves a year ban so he take the time & smartin up.

    You're entitled to your opinion.

I think you're overlooking how easy it is too not notice some moistened gauze? Especially considering the circumstances.
