It wouldn't have to be gamboa paying it directly, any promoter would buy Gamboa out of his top rank contract as long as it's a reasonable price if Gamboa would join their team. Gamboa has the fastest hands in the sport, one punch KO power and ring smarts equal to that of floyds, he is the complete fighter and any promotional team would want him. Top rank need to make money too, so they gain nothing from letting Gamboa sit idle and run out his contract.

I can't wait till 2-3 years from now when Gamboa is the p4p king and Rios has already passed his prime. It's gonna kill you to see Gamboa rise to boxing superstardom while Rios becomes a footnote as an exciting fighter who blocks with his face and had a short reign as decent champ....a poor mans Vargas. Gamboa has the chance to be an ATG, Rios has the chance to be an exciting fighter with a short career. Even right now as afar as accomplishments Gamboa>Rios and we don't even need to compare skills and talent. Sorry to reign on your hater parade

PS **** the haters, Gamboa's been my favorite fighter since his 2nd straight fight on ESPN FNF vs Johnnie Edwards...then the Jimenez and Seeger fights just enforced it for me. After watching him twice I called future p4p #1 and I stick by it! It's rare that you catch a great fighter so early in the career and get to follow the entire thing before they even become a contender. Can't help but root for someone who's as exciting as Gamboa, with his backstory and especuially after following him at such an early stage in his career.

Do I wish he didn't pull this BS? **** yeah, am I disapointed by it? **** yeah. Do I still think he would school Rios? **** yeah. Do I understand that this is boxing and this has to do with him being unhappy with his position at TR rather than being afraid which next to no elite level pro is? **** yeah. Get a clue dummies.
