So a short left hook that lands cleanly and drives JMM back is ineffective aggression? Damn Vlade, do you read some of this long-winded **** you right?

Ive realized that i have already given my opinion. I thought Marquez won.
Now why do i keep trying to "prove" he got robbed ?
You have your own opinion and i have mine.

So, best of luck to ya all and i hope you realize that this is a pointless argument :thumbsup

This proves the fight was closer than alot of people think. The judges saw it best ringside but you have to give JMM and Nacho credit, it was a tremendous patient gameplan.

Like Leonard said, Pac should have just come guns blazing instead of trying to box.

I think the thing is, Pac throws his punches short compact and FAST. It really is hard to see in real time, much less drunk with 30 people in a fight party. And they look plenty effective to me. One measure of a punch's "effectiveness" is whether you see it coming or not. I think JMM got hit with alotta shots he didn't see coming. If you look at those gifs where JMM is getting tagged he never looks like he was bracing for the shot. He looks stunned almost. On the other hand alotta of the gifs where Pac is getting hit, he looks like he's tucking his chin and his eyes are looking directly at the punch.

I think these pics are telling and it shows an overlooked skill of sorts. JMM landed cleanly on both these shots but it also shows how you should take a shot---chin tucked, body tensed to cushion the blow. Pac couldn't get out of the way but you can clearly tell he anticipated the shots coming.

Now compare it to this....JMM getting caught flatfooted. Kinda explains the difference in facial damage.

The point still stands Vlade---its the shots you don't see coming that really ****s you up.Those are great connects but do you see Pac getting staggered? No coz he anticipated those shots and braced for impact. It kinda works this way; you're brain relies on muscle memory. So if you're body sees or senses an oncoming situation its experienced before, ie; a shot to the head, the body reacts accordingly to cushion the adverse effects whether that be to tense up instinctively or the circulatory system sending a massive flow of blood to your brain. This is the secret to having a good chin. Simple really, anticipate a shot and your body reacts well to it. The pics on this thread are great becoz it displays the body language and reaction of each to landed shots. You can tell who was getting affected by punches more and not seeing them coming. Ultimately this should hold the most weight when gauging a punch's "effectiveness". To reiterate, JMM seemingly looked shock everytime he got hit by pac's "grazing" blows.

While I don't directly attribute it to "effectiveness", I'm glad that somebody else understands what Pac was doing to JMM and why he should've just went all out instead of playing a chess match against someone a lot better than he is in that department.
