There is no question antidepressants are beneficial, lets put that to rest. It's how they change a fighters psyche that interests me.

I disagree. I think his post prison antics were all show. He had very little of the true aggression he demonstrated early in his career. With Tyson, the less he talked, the more destructive he was. When he started all that talk about eating Lennox Lewis' children etc., it was all bluster, smoke and mirrors. The real fighter was long gone.

That has nothing to do with boxing whatsoever. The aggression that antidepressants curtail is of the zero to sixty, lashing out variety that is a response to stressors in the environment.

Your entire premise is based on the false assumption that boxers are supposed to be in a hyper-emotional state and tap into all their primitive urges when fighting, which could not be less true. No coach worth his salt will ever tell anyone to fight emotionally in the ring, that's how you get yourself KTFO. You should be focused and calm. That sort of controlled aggression isn't what antidepressants target.

It's one thing to have not taken antidepressants and/or not have any boxing experience, but to come in knowing nothing about either and pushing a half-baked theory that one impacts performance in the other without a shred of clinical evidence to back you up, and to keep doubling down on this theory after multiple people have said no .. that's a little silly.

I've never taken an anti-depressant in my life and never will, and for that reason, I'd probably get KTFO, because I would come in looking to take my opponents head off, and they'd use my aggression against me. So if anything it might help Fury, instead of hamper him.:deal:

I was merely suggesting that a correlation may exist between low levels of serotonin and impulsive aggression. We know that boxers need a killer instinct. It's obviously beneficial to have controlled aggression but not all boxers are able to separate emotion from their violent trade. To think otherwise would be naïve.

Paulie destroys McConor for 30 minutes. Funny listen and he actually makes good points.

I’d actually like to see them box at 154, I think Malignaggi even at his current state would make him incredibly foolish. Because he wouldn’t clown around like Mayweather did.

I agree he needs to let it go, but if you are a former world champion boxer made to look like you were dropped by a novice boxer in sparring and then ridiculed by McConor’s legions of nuthuggers, you’d be feeling aggrieved too. Also I reckon Paulie is still hopeful of goading him into a boxing match. Paulie would make millions from it.

yeah it would **** me off, but everyone can see Mac didn't knock him down properly, Cortez shows that in the video. If it pisses him off that much, just pin a video of Cortez waving off the KD to his twitter. But if he's chasing the payday, i see that

Wonder if they will acquit Canelo for robbing Golovkin of his belts?
