I see he is fighting James Pennitentiary Chances Kirkland on the Hatton-Paulie undercard in Vegas? Wow, I hope Brian is getting a good pay day for this....I fear for his safety

Kirkland has looked dangerous no doubt, but Vera is pretty rugged. Just ask Andy Lee. However, if Kirkland wants to be a contender he has to get by a guy like Brian who really is just a tough clubfighter.

AFAIK no boxer can get life insurance... Too much underwriting risk. I don't know about boxers though.

Vera was KO'd by Jaidon Codrington who as more power and better skills then Kirkland and that was at 168. If Vera can weather the early sorm he could probably win or lose a very close decision.

Vera is a middleweigh/super middleweight... Kirkland is a rising jr middleweight who might eventually be a middleweight....

    On the flip side...

Vera was outboxed by Samuel Miller.... even tho Vera won that fight, he was being outboxed.... And anybody who's ever seen a Samuel Miller fight knows that he isn't much of a boxer...

kirkland got put on his ass by Alan Conyers, so he doesn't have a steel chin. I think Vera is game

I'm more worried about JK's health insurance. He has to train with Ann Wolfe.
