Don't get me started - Oh hell - too late.

    19 !? weight classes 32 !!? ounces apart is a FARCE

Who is shameless enough to even WANT to be the LightJuniorSuperFLyWeight champion of Pottawattomie or any other thang?

The original EIGHT with Cruiser (176-200) between LightHeavy and Heavy I could live with - How Bout YOU!?

Which leads me to - 95 world boxing titles - really?
WBA, WBO, IBF, RING, WWF, RAW, WTF, KMA, FTW, TLA, ECT...

No alphabet BS - ONE UNDISPUTED CHAMP IN EACH DIVISION and FEWER DIVISIONS than most folks have fingers. Winning one of those would actually mean something.

Contenders taking a YEAR off - if you don't want to box - don't box. But if you don't have a fight a quarter (or at the very least 2 a year) you should be punted out of the rankings!
Which leads nicely to - No ducking - fight the best to be the best or GTFO.
Once you are in the top 10 you have a right to face the guy directly in front of you. I see it going something like this - set up the top 10 in a bracket and you start at the top and work your way down in pairs.

Weigh-in's 5 days in advance - I swear - When "welterweights" are coming into the ring north of 160 - it is a FARCE. IF you are too hosed up to step on the scale and then step in the ring no more than 10 minutes later (Forfit your PURSE if you come in OVER you FAT LAZY UNPROFESSIONAL MAGGOT) then maybe, just maybe, you are in the WRONG weight class!

Getting caught using 'performance enhancing' pharmaceuticals should have only one simple very light penalty - Forfeiture of the fight and purse and a LIFETIME BAN. With requirements to test every fighter for a random mix of such things before and after every fight.

The EXACT same simple very light penalty for people associated professionally with boxing for gambling on the outcome of a boxing match or taking money to influence the outcome. The level of corruption rampant today puts even backwoods redneck hillbilly sheriffs to shame. If you want to know the truth about most things in boxing FOLLOW THE MONEY.

One standard Peer Reviewed official certification to judge or ref a Pro bout. Botch one - find another line of work. I think the fans deserve better than I've seen lately and I know the BOXERS certainly do.

If boxing does not address at least SOME of these issues it will continue to lose ground to MMA and face extinction as a major sport.

The numerous alphabet titles help lesser known fighters, particularly high-risk/low-reward fighters, with their exposure and sometimes getting bigger fights. I don't picture HBO putting up the money for Mosley-Forrest and Mosley-Wright if they weren't unification bouts.

But it's annoying for the fans, and there's so damn many of them. For most of boxing's history, there were two main world titles. The NBA (later becoming the WBA) and the NYSAC (more or less becoming the WBC).

Now there's a "Big 4" (this is ****ing boxing damn it, not accounting firms) of the WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO in addition to the silver, diamond, golden, bronze, rotten piece of metal, etc...title and it's gotten so ****ing ridiculous.

Any crap being on PPV. For a lot of fights, this means boxing needs more sponsors so they can put it on network, or even basic cable, TV. PPV is better than Closed Circuit but I only want to see really big and good fights on PPV, not some of the garbage that HBO has put up in the past few years.
