Accurate Southpaw with DEVASTATING power and lots and lots of heart. He may not be the best technical boxer but he first laced up when he was 19, so you've got to respect him for what he's achieved so far.

When is Ivan Calderon going to man up and take Giovanni on for the Ring and WBO titles?

Hmm.. apparently I misspelled "Giovani", but then again, so does BoxRec and all his Youtube videos. Oh well.

    Do you know his story?

He was a gardener in LA and went in to a Gym to workout just for fun and a trainer spotted him and told him he could be a world champion.

    I am on board...

Being a Southern Cali boy like myself, I support Segura. However, Iron Boy would box his socks off.

Segura has a 4-inch height and 6-inch reach advantage. He can cut off the ring, he's somehow incredibly accurate with his powerful looping punches, and Calderon has cut incredibly easy lately. I see the Aztec Warrior winning by late TKO on cuts.

Exactly! Calderon's fighting June 12th against a fighter with a 16-6 record, whose most impressive performance was losing to Brian Viloria.

    Ivan's running scared of Segura.

I dont know who'll win between calderon and segura, it's a tough fight for calderon plus he's old and havent been the same in awhile.. but WTF wrong with people always blaming one guy for a fight not happening.. it takes two to rumble and unless you're involved in the negotiations you dont know who's sabotaging the fight by asking too much money or putting up demands that wont be met.. so shut up already about this fighter being scare of the other fighter because if you been around boxing and know something about boxing you have to know that you dont become world champion by being a ***** or scared to fight

Giovani's been calling Calderon out for a while now, but instead he decided to fight against a guy with a 16-6 record. I honestly think Ivan's worried that he's going to get KTFO'd and lose his perfect record.

    Here is the Challenge

One thing I have to say is Segura is both confident and funny...

After he beats Ivan he should become a bigger star in boxing.

Segura- "le vamos a dar palo a ese chaparro!" LOL

I'm on board! Segura has knock out power in both hands and can take you out with headshots or shots to the body. He has chin like Margarito (pre Mosley). Yeah, I'll pick him over Calderon, being Ivan is at the end of his career. But even a prime Calderon would of had serious problems against Segura.

    translation:

"We are here in good hands with Julio and T.V. Azteca, and we're going forward. And remember we're going after that shorty Ivan Calderon and we're going to give him 'palo' like you guys say!..."

"Palo" literally means stick. but is used to desribe a beating.

In Calderon's defense, he was originally scheduled to fight 14-0(8ko's) Johnriel Casimiro, but for whatever reason the WBO set aside the fight for Jesus Iribe. Ugh. It would be fun to see Calderon vs. Segura.
