Peter - Golota???????? Joe Cool is this being discussed?????? I doubt this would happen (especially one less then a weeks notice) but this is what Steve Kim said in his article:

Peter has more than earned his shot at the WBC title. If it were up to him, he would've faced Maskaev months ago. There is talk that this show may still be salvaged. I've been told there is talk of Andrew Golota as the new opponent and that Showtime may still go through with their telecast.

Check out the whole article on Max Boxing. Don't think Golota would even take it but its still good to hear his name being thrown out there!!!!!!

If I were Golota's handlers I don't think I'd advise him to step in against Peter. I don't think he's ready and quite frankly I don't think he'll ever be ready to fight someone like Peter at his age. On the other hand, at his age this opportunity may never come again and at this point what does he really have to lose? But man would that be a dream come true if it happened and he was able to beat Peter for the title. If this happened I think I'd shat an eggroll.

Guys, I REALLY don't even know what the **** to think of this......:admin :yikes :admin :yikes .

I truly don't think Golota can handle a bull like Peter, not at this stage in his career. Man....****. I guess if you get your shot ya gotta take it, but man....

Anyway, thanks JC. I hope Golota somehow pulls it off, but I dont know if I'll be able to watch this one live.

Prepare for worse ... so maybe the first time you will be positive surprised
when Golota become WBC champion in the next two weeks.:scaredas:
Then just one fight with Wlad to become lineal/undisputed champion .... life is easy

Seriously, even Peter KO Golota in 1st round Golota may still come back in 2008
to knock out McBride ... Golota Express will not die so easily.

Other option ... If Peter manage to win but Golota put good performance and
will not get knock out ... this gives Golota automatic shot at Wlad:deal

This way or another the fight with Peter is good for him :hat

Not, there were two or three other Golota Expresses which were longer
but they die with the sudden and unexpectd crash of ESB hard drive
(dirves working without any backup :patsch).

Golota must be quite confident if he agreed to make this fight happen. I hope the decission was trully his and not King's or Ziggy's. Talk about diving head first. If you consider it, that's exactly what he did with Bowe. Going from Pu'ha to Big Daddy was a large step upwards, and Golota made his name then and there.Golota can rise to the occasion, but he must be weary of the clubbing canons, telegraphed from Peter. Peter is a hungry, determined fighter that has made something out of nothing (classic overachiever) and Golota is in his twilight, finally trying to put those talents consistently to good use against a premier fighter (classic underachiever). Look at it this way, we all wanted but were never certain Golota could once again be in a big fight, because he is fighting against time and all comebacks take time and can hit various obstacles in the way (eg., Vitaly getting injured), which can literally end careers on a totally sour puss note. We got our wish! If this fight happens, I predict a bloody bout ala Golota vs. Corey Sanders. Peter - Golota will be a hell of a clash, worthy of primetime. :ko
