This does suck though. I too was getting very caught up in the excitement. I'm a gambling man by nature and sometimes I do enjoy going for broke even when the odds are strongly against me. I was giving a decent chance at pulling the upset.

No problem guys. We still gotta fight in under two weeks. Golota will make a statement out of McMalt and will fight again in Nov as planned. He will get his title shot early next year and it will be against a guy he's more likely to beat. NOT WLad or Peter.

    GO GOLOTA!

    KEEP THE FAITH!

    12 YEARS STRONG!

Now the question becomes....will the undercard be televised?

If not, I doubt I'll even tune-in, instead, opting exclusively for MAB-Pac II (which I'd be watching that night, regardless).

Peter-McCline might actually be a decent fight, but I'm not that interested in it.

i am happy that this fight fell through. let's be realistic for a moment fellas Peter would hurt Golota badly. I would be ok with this fight if Golota has had already 3-4 fight after that long break but that's just too early plus I heard that Golota was easy to hit during his sparring sessions in Chicago and we know how big of a puncher is Samuel Peter. Fight with Peter Yes but now yet ...not yet

    JOECOOL:

What's the latest scoop? Is Golota-McBride back on, and will it be televised?

Very disappointed to here the Peter bout fell through. I hope DKP still has plans for another big fight for Golota.

    Please let us know!

Better for Golota now...duff up McBride, get in another quick fight, then aim for a top ten guy.

Much better than immediately trying to leap back to the top level.
In the long run this could be for the best.

They said McCline has "the inside track", whatever the **** that means.

I'm hoping there are still problems and that Golota somehow lands this opportunity yet.

I imagine there aren't many pugilists out there willing to risk a fight with Peter for minimal dollar.

This is a blessing in disguise! Golota was not ready to fight Peter. He needs at least two more step up fights before he goes in there with one of the best heavyweights in the world.

He is gonna destroy McBride and then hopefully someone like Larry Donald, or Kali Meehan. And then he is gonna take the title from Peter in his frist defense!!!!!!!!!

Agreed in theory, but Golota is getting old and there isn't much time left. He's in good shape now, and historically, he performs well when little is expected of him.

I think it was a prime opportunity. If he stays active enough, I'd be more willing to lean your direction, but damn! Golota hardly fights at all, so I'm not sure tune-ups and gradual steps will do him much good at this stage.

Well according to JC, the plan is for Golota dispatch McMalt and then fight again in November with another step up in class, and then again in January for some kind of title eliminator.

If all this goes thru, I truly believe this is the better blueprint. NOT risking it all with Peter in a fight he had very little chance at winning. Rmember Rums, Golota's only had one fight in the last 2 and a half years, and he didn't look so good against Bates. The odds are, Peter would have creamed Golota. Maybe even in Brewster fashion and that would have been just devestating to the Express.

But you're right, Golota's old and the hour glass is just about empty. But he has King on his side. All he's gotta do is get a few wins against nobodies under his belt and he'll get his title fight within the year. And this time, HE WILL BE READY.

    GO GOLOTA
