Great article by Scoop on Golota and his adventure in New York.

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=12708&more=1

Although I found one inaccuracy. Scoop said Golota had only pulled out once in his career and that was his pro debut fight against Buster Mathis.

    Not true.

Golota had to pull out of his fight against Ray Mercer due to a back injury in May of 97 just after the Bowe fights. I remember watching HBO and waiting for the fight to start, and it never did. I was so pissed I called HBO and asked them what gives (this was before I discovered the internet). They said Golota injurred himself and the fight was postponed. Same thing happened in August of that year only this time it was Mercer who pulled out due to a neck injury.

Scoop and I should have a little chat.

Rums, are you surpised by Golota's seemingly superb condition? He was able to get ack down to his usual 241. I would have liked 238 better for extra speed, but 241 is amazing at his age.

Nope, I was more surprised by his lack of conditioning against Bates.

Interestingly, rumour has it Peter-McCline might be off?

Perhaps Golota will still get to fight Peter tomorrow night after all!

    :lol::patsch

Here was my email to 'Blow-time'.

I, and many others from various boxing websites, are baffled that Showtime has seemingly decided not to air the Golota vs McBride fight this Saturday, the undercard of Peter vs McCline. I realize this fight does not have extreme significant meaning, but it's still an intriguing and interesting match-up. The notorious Golota has a checkered past, but he's well known for his unpredictable and exciting ring presence. In wake of the main event being reduced from it's orginal line-up (Maskeav pulling out) I, as well as many others, submit to Showtime, a terrific boxing network, needs to air the Golota-McBride fight to keep a strong card. Please show the fight.
    Thank you for your time.

What will Blow-time think when the non-televised Golota-McMuffin ends up being an exciting crowd pleaser and the main event ends up being a soft bellied 12 round stinker as it's destined to be?

I think we are going to see a much better, quicker Golota vs McBride compard to his fight with Bates. I want to see what his jab looks like as well as his speed and I want him to strart throwing straight punches. we MUST see this fight, some how some way.

Do you guys seriously know something I don't?

    :huh

Is Golota fighting McMuffin, or is he fighting Peter? Which title is he inevitably going to win tomorrow night?

The WBC interim? Or the IBF intercontinental?

The best would be if he fight Mcbrider first, then he will be wamed up efficiently before Peter.
..... And the fight with Peter would be an IBF/WBC unification :bbb

Perhaps Golota can fight them both on the same card?

Golota is shortchanged 3 title fights in a row, but picks up two in one night?

    I like it.
