In the first round Golota was paralysed and took big punches from McBride (he was almost KO). But in round 2 he came back!

McBride is big enough and strong enough to hurt anyone. I am encouraged that Golota took on the adversity and pulled out the win.

Golota needs to work on coming out a little quicker.

    Good call andyzor!!!!

I am worried though if Mcmuffin had him in trouble in the first, Imagine what Wlad would do to him..... :yikes

I am thinking he will retire. I do not want to think that but thats what I am thinking.

Man, those first rounds are a serious problem for Golota. McBride knew his only chances were in the first and from the sound of it, he almost pulled it off. Golota really needs good warm ups before the fight, although I suspect the problem is really his usual pre-fight jitters having a numbing effect on his body and concentration. Nevertheless, this is a valuable win because Golota now has learned that he can overcome his first round difficulties and not cave in when being blitzed (which was undoubtedly McGirt's strategy). With the potato farmer being out of the way, bring on Chagaev!

That ****in guy needs to be really warmed up when he gets in the ring...I mean dripping with sweat. He's just too nervous & there for the taking. Thank God he survived.

This adds something new to his resume. Taking heavy punishment & not being KO'ed or quitting & comeback to take control & win.

Good for him. Can't wait to see it.

PolishPummler...where are you? If this fights out there, he can find it!:happy

No. One more punching bag to work over, like Shannon Briggs. Then go for the HW Title against the one he has the best chance of beating.

No retirement is necessary, he got the job done and TKO'd a decent quality opponent. It's his usual pre-fight anxiety problems haunting him in the first rounds and not any deterioration of his remaining skills and assets, although I would need to see rounds 2-6 to confidently make that determination. McBride probably blitzed him a little knowing well his weakness. This experience was wonderful, because Andrew now knows he can overcome his first round crises. After the Ruiz, Byrd and this fight, we are well in our rights to say that Andrew has heart.

He's always had a good chin. LLewis & Brewster just caught him real cold. He's got to come into the ring VERY warmed up, which should calm him down a bit.

Good win & way to hang in there, ya big moose!
