after watching that u gotta admit that was a quick stoppage, the ref didnt even consult the fight doctor...

That's what it looked like to me. McMuffin looked as if he were huffin and puffin and about to go down anyway but the ref saw the bad cut and stopped the fight. I hate stoppages like that, I wanted Golota to put McMuffin on his back like a ***** ready to be ****ed.

 

yea the ref. stopped it too soon imo as well.

im gonna have to see the whole fight before jumping to conclusions. but I think Golota was getting hit way too often by a guy that isnt lightning quick.

When I first heard Golota got hurt early, I figured it was more of a nervous thing. But now I see that it's more of a poor defense thing. Golota gets hit a LOT. He was getting hit a lot even in the Ruiz fight, he doesn't have good defense the way he used to. Not sure if this can even be improved much at this point, he's a bit slower than before.


The left hand (the jab and left hook) look VERY GOOD! He's startin' to snap that jab out again and his left hook has some pop to it. This fight reminded me of the Golota-T-Rex fight, only Golota is not as quite as quick and skillful, but still very similar style.

Over all, it's fair to say that McBride, a C fighter at best, gave Golota a bit of a hard time, and I'm not 100% sure his final comeback will reach the top, but he showed a lot of heart and skill in this fight as well as power. Still a good TKO win and hopefully he can keep the momentum strong and do even better in his next fight.

Yep. Quite frankly, Golota's defense sucks. It's just a good thing Golota still has a good chin cause that's about all the defense he seems to have. But what will happen when he gets in there with another banger with Brewster like power?

 

Yes, stoppage too quick, but with Don King involved.............still, looks as if Golota would have stopped McBride anyway. Golota looked good, think he would have stopped Peter tonight.

 

It was definitely a quick stoppage. But McBride wasn't complaining.

 

GOLOTA TKO! I'll take it... Def a quick stoppage although I really believe Golota would have gotten to him later that round if not the next. His defense def could use some fine tuning. In a way...I am really happy to hear he got caught real bad in the first and made it out. This is going to real good things for him in his head. Which is ALWAYS a good thing. He's GOT to be careful though ...because if he's in there with someone who has killer instinct and is a good finisher, he will get KO'd.

As others said...he's GOT to get really warmed up. From here on out every fighter he faces is going to really press the action in the first round....he's got to know this. And the best thing he can do to counter act this...is GET WARMED up in the dressing room....be aggressive himself in the first round...don't take so long to start throwing.

Nice to get to see at least a good part of the fight!!

Hey, it aint Golota 10 years ago but...we gotta give and take. Golota 10 years ago would have brothered and succumbed to the rough first round... Golota now is mentally stronger...hes still got pretty great all around skills but def used to be a lot sharper with his punches and defense. Either way....Everyone has to be happy with this. He will give ANY TOP fighter a fight.
