    At which position?

Before Brewster fight he was like #6 or something.

I can't say with certainty, so I'm reluctant to take a guess...but someone must surely have a copy of Ring magazine from September 1996-September 1997.

Disagreed. King had no problem sacrificing Meehan off against Rahman, he'll have no problem doing the same with Golota.

Golota will sell-out Chicago with or without Mollo.

At that time Meehan was at similar position as Mollo is rihgt now.
Now Meehan have his own history
... KO over TOS give him possibility to get his own title shot.

The fight Meehan-Golota removes one of them from the bussines and
is not giving any chances to promote Mollo who is on roll right now.

Beside that Mollo recently called out Golota which may be some
preliminary setup to create good atmosphere for this fight.

Meehan ain't getting a title shot no matter what.

Golota is the name King has who can make him a potential boatload. A loss to Mollo ruins that, while a loss to Meehan does little to harm his purse (or his potential purse).

    Why?

I agree that this fight may ruin Golota, but seriously are you really sure King is not
using Golota all the time to his own dirty plays (2x miracusly screwed up by judges).
I wouldn't be surprised he needs Golota only for promote fights .... Golota ultimate challenger.
But Golota isn't good enough for him as a champion. Maybe he needs Golota to pump up Mollo?

Just after the Bowe-Golota fights, Ring magazine had Golota in the top 5. Before those fights Bowe was number one, then slipped to 9 or 10. Lewis, Tyson and Holyfield and maybe Foreman were all in the top 5 or 6 as well. Just can't remember the exact order.

Mollo is a damn nobody. Matching Golota up against Mollo makes NO sense at all right now. King must know this would be a terrible business move. Golota is on a 2 fight TKO win streak and is virtually back into title contention. Why would King risk his golden egg (Golota) for a few dollars in Chicago against a seemingly dangerous nobody like Mollo? Golota puts butts in seats regardless who he fights, he doesn't need a loser nobody from Chicago to make King cash. Meehan makes perfect sense. Let's hope both King and Golota do the right thing and fight either Meehan, or Moorer or at least someone with a name, even if they are washed up.

Mollo has one more fight with King and it's still unknown if he will renew his contract. He changed his team recently and is no more with Sam as a head coach. Meehan can fight anyone, anytime, he just care about money. Fight against Golota will be his 2nd biggest purse. Golota wants Meehena, not Mollo, who is nobody at the moment.

After 2 fights against Bowe, Golota was WBC#1 and RingMagazin #3 if I remember well.

This isn't really groundbreaking news but you all will be really happy to hear this! As I have stated in the past, my father is friendly with Ziggy. He tells me he stopped in today (he needed some steel work done). So my dad asked him about Golota....and said... He's still fighting...what does he need money?? (my father seems to be convinced that this is the reason why he's still fighting) Ziggy said, "No, he's fine with money, he wants a belt!"

I don't know about you guys but I think this is ****ing awesome! This just proves that he is more focused then ever and only has one goal to accomplish. I'm pulling for him now more then ever (if thats even possible). He didn't ask about any future fights or anything. Ziggy offered some tickets to future fights though! I'm hoping his next fight lands at the Garden (which I prefer over AC). Bring on Meehan!
