Some suspect Joecool may be working close with team Golota, but no one really knows for sure. Jetski stays in contact with Scoop who stays in contact with team Golota.

As far as Golota being approachable or not I've heard both. Guess it just depends on what kind of mood he's in when you catch him. Over the years I've heard some pretty weird stories and anecdotes about Golota. I met his old cutman in San Antonio once.

When the 10th round came (in the Grant fight), the room was just silent...

I had no idea what the **** happened and no idea why Golota had quit.

I forget where I saw it ...or read it but I remember Lou Duva talking about Golota early in his career and how they went into a convienence store where Golota stole a bag of peanuts or something! Hahahh...He showed it to Duva after like he was all proud of it to which Duva yelled at him and told him he can't do stuff like that.:lol:

Ahh...I remember this fight. I was a junior in high school at my friends house who had a party that night. Got completely shitfaced and was devistated when he quit. I couldn't beleive it.

As a Golota fan, that was almost as bad as it gets....especially since at that time, he was still pretty close to his prime years and had a real shot to make some noise.

Of course, nothing was worse than the Lewis debacle...not even the fiasco against Tyson or the disaster against Brewster....but that Grant one was tough.

    You da man, joecool!

    :cheers

Andrew “Fighting Pole” Golota’s will be fighting at least once more in 2007, and maybe even twice. He has been rumored to be fighting in Poland and in Chicago, and Kali Meehan is the opponent of choice in one of the fights.

Rumors have swirled that he may even face former champion Vitali Klitschko in January on the undercard of the Roy Jones Jr. vs. Felix “Tito” Trinidad mega-event in New York City.

I was beyond devestated. Especially since I thought he had Grant finished in that first round. Same with Bowe. It's like someone telling you that you just won the ****ing lotto, only to have your ticket flushed down the toilet!

Literally right after the Grant fight my brother and I took a trip from Austin to Tucson and it was one depressing long drive. I saw a good concert in Tucson when we got there and that seemed to relieve the pain momentarily.

Guess they are still trying to iron out what's next, but it looks like Meehan is the guy they are shooting for.

Vitali vs Golota would be one hell of an exciting fight, but if Golota can find a path of less resistance en route to a title match, I'd favor that.

Out of all of Golota's meltdowns, I'd probably agree that the Lewis fight was the absolute worst.

It was so shocking and disappointing because at that time Golota appeared to be an unstoppable killing machine in his prime just coming off the two Bowe wars and Lewis had just come off of two stinkers (Akinwande and McCall) and it was for the championship. Lewis was the worst but they are all so horrific.

If he beats Meehan and say Larry Donald, then I don't think he needs to take the fight with Vitali. Vitali is a very scary opponent who has a size advantage on Golota, and is also probably an unnecessary opponent.

The win over two credible guys like Meehan and Donald might get him a title fight. And if he has to fight another name guy Shannon Briggs or Hasim Rahman would be much safer opponents. I don't want to see Golota blow a title fight by taking a stupid fight against Vitali when he doesn't have to....Golota still has the stuff to beat Chagaev, Ibragimov, Maskaev, or even Peter, but he needs to avoid the Klitschkos!

No doubt the Lewis debacle was the worst! Like you said, he had the aura of invincibility, and if he was to lose, it was unimaginable that he would do so without first administering a major ass-whopping.

Grant was more like the Bowe bouts, Tyson was most embarassing, but by that point, we knew it wasn't the same Golota who'd fought Bowe. The Brewster debacle was upsetting after the strong efforts against Byrd and Ruiz, but at least he never quit against Brewster and tried to continue after each vicious knockdown.

Golota fans are one loyal bunch!
